Best Place to sort MAC or IOS log in information in 1Password

Hi @dnewmanm5 ,
Good question!
You have a few options for where to store this information, and it really comes down to where you think you would look first for it.
- Login items: because you have a username and a password here, a 'Login' item might be a good choice. You can even add a custom icon to help you identify that the item belongs to your computer or iOS device.
- Passwords: because there is no URL involved, you might choose to store the item simply as a 'Password' item.
- Secure Notes: Any type of information that doesn't quite fit into any of the available categories can be tucked safely inside a 'Secure Note'. This is where I currently have my computer log in details. I'm not sure it's the best location, but it seems to work alright for me, especially since I don't often need these details - they stay nicely out of my way and don't clutter up my Login list.
So, I don't quite have a perfect, definitive answer for you here. But I'm curious to hear about which category you think best fits these details!

Thanks Megan. I ended up putting in passwords, but I like your idea of a custom icon in Login Items. That's probably what i will do. Do you guys have a library of custom icons somewhere that I can download?

Hi @dnewmanm5,
I use the Server category myself and then use custom fields to add more information e.g. the model specs. For custom icons I jumped over to the Apple Store web site and grabbed images for the relevant machines. Sadly we don't have a library of custom icons for you to use but you can just drag images from a web page to the icon. One aspect to look out for though is if when you click save it doesn't seem to store the image it may be it couldn't be compressed enough. We do try and shrink it but if we fail it doesn't warn you at the moment. Attempting with a smaller picture may help.
Yell if you have any more questions
