1pass mini extension enabling
I have yosemite 10.10 on my mac. Ever since migrating to Yosemite, the 1 password mini becomes disabled every time that safari is restarted. I get a notice about migrating extensions and then have to go click the "enable" box next to the extension each time. Its a nuisance. Any suggested fixes? Thanks

Hi @madnance,
Let's just confirm a few version numbers to start off:
- What is the version number of 1Password that you have installed? (You can find this in the 1Password menu > About 1Password)
- What is the version number of your operating system?
- What is the version number of your browser?
Could you provide the exact text of the message that you see with respect to extensions?
The more detail you can provide, the more quickly we'll be able to get you sorted out! :)

What is the version number of 1Password that you have installed? 5.1 (510027)
What is the version number of your operating system? Yosemite 10.10.2 (14C109)
What is the version number of your browser? Version 8.0.3 (10600.3.18)This started showing up when i converted to Yosemite.
Now when I quit safari and restart I am not seeing the 1 mini icon and there are no extensions in safari under "preferences". I previously was getting a message like "safari has migrated your extensions" and I would have to go in and enable the password extension every time I restarted Safari. Now the extension is gone. I just downloaded the latest extension for 1password a few days ago.
Thanks for your help Megan

Hi @madnance,
Do you use any other extensions and is the same happening with them? If it's all extensions I'd have to guess at it being corruption of some kind with your Safari profile.
Here's how to purge Safari's extensions as completely as I know how to.
Wiping Safari's extensions
To start make sure Safari is not opened.
Preference plist
Open a Finder window and use the keyboard shortcut
⇧⌘G
to open a Go to the folder window. Use the following location~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.Extensions.plist
and click the Go button.Drag the highlighted file to your Trash.
Extension files
Like above, open a Finder window and use the keyboard shortcut
⇧⌘G
to open a Go to the folder window. Use the following location~/Library/Safari/Extensions/
and click the Go button.Drag the highlighted folder to your Trash.
Safari Extensions List
Launch Keychain Access which you can find in
/Applications/Utilities/
. Search on the wordsafari
and you should have 3 entries in the results. You want to right click on Safari Extensions List and select the Delete "Safari Extensions List" option. After those two, reboot your Mac and you'll need to go through the steps of installing your extensions again. With a little luck whatever got messed up was in there and the 1Password extension will now properly load
Let us know how you get along.

Thank you LittleBobbyTables. That seemed to do the trick!

I suppose, you must upgrade your 1password mini.

Sorry @victoriabrinsley, I'm always very cautious when it comes to links.
1Password mini is part of the 1Password application so you can't actually update it. The extension is separate but the issue here seems to have been related to a corruption in Safari, possibly a permissions issue.
