Form fills out form but doesn't login
Hi there!
I'm having trouble with logging in here https://www.southern-electric.co.uk/Login/
First time I entered the details manually and 1password extension in Safari popped up asking to save that login which I was happy with.
After that when I go to said website, I go to the extension and choose that login, the email and the password are completed on the form and the login is submitted but then it's as if the website refreshed and it comes up again with the form, the email has got my credential inside but the password field is blank.
Can you advise what's going on?

I have a Login item for that site which works perfectly (using 1P 5.3.BETA-7 with Firefox 35.0.1 and the 1P 4.3.0.b8 Firefox extension). I suspect if you re-create and save the login manually it will solve your problem.

Thanks Stephen. I have done as you suggested and deleted the login from 1Password, went to the website and manually entered the info and saved it when asked. Upon trying again the same behaviour.
I'm using:
1Password
Version 5.1 (510027)
Mac App Store
&
Safari 8.0.3 on Yosemite 10.10.2Please advise.
Thanks!

Thanks Moocher, that's happening more and more often... I just came here to reply and needed to login to do so and guess what? See attached.
It fills the form out, submits then comes back without the username and saying it couldn't login. I must be doing something wrong?!
Thanks!

Sorry, I've had a little more time now to look at your Login item for Southern Electric. There is a significant difference from mine in terms of the web form details. While yours shows two time "ctl00$ContentPlaceholder..." mine shows, first, "Username" and, second, "Password" in those two positions.
I searched the forums for "ContentPlaceholder" and came up only with this very old thread—which, sadly, does not provide an answer to the problem.
Something is clearly not right so I'm pinging @MikeT and @littlebobbytables who may be around today and able to assist. Sorry not to be able to help more.

Hi @guicane,
This one is tricky. It sounds like the issue is only observable when the form is submitted and that requires a valid account - something we can't create because it's a power company.
The information that @Stephen_C supplied does lend itself to one particular suggestion though. His web form details suggest he might have created a basic Login item from within 1Password's main window. My suggestion is to see if that makes any difference. Try creating a brand new Login item in 1Password and copy the relevant details over from the non-functional Login item for Southern Electric. Does this behave any better?
I'm a little unclear as to post #4 though, it's almost as if it was intended for another thread?

Hey littlebobbytables,
Post #4 was just me saying there's an issue somewhere, not with that specific website only. So i posted a screenshot of what happens when I tried to login to your own website.

Hi MikeT,
I created this login when I created the account which was done a couple of days ago to report this issue.
When the account was created 1Password prompted me to save the login and it was automatically done.
When I submit the login details it does as if both fields are filled out but then it refreshes the page and it goes back to the login screen. In Agilebits website the login disappears and password stays. In the Southern Electric website the opposite happens, the username stays and password disappears.
I'm confused. Please send help.

Hi @guicane,
Did you try my suggestion from post #6 for Southern Electric?
Try creating a brand new Login item in 1Password and copy the relevant details over from the non-functional Login item for Southern Electric. Does this behave any better?
When I say create a brand new Login item in 1Password I mean in the main 1Password window. It creates a basic Login item with no web form details from the page.
As for the the Login item for our forums.
I don't know exactly what happened in your case but as MikeT says, for reasons unknown it hasn't saved the username.
- Does the Login item work any better if you simply edit it and add in your username?
- You could try following our Saving a Login Manually guide and see if that new Login works better.
- If that still doesn't then my own Login item looks like I created it manually inside the main 1Password window (as I suggested above for Southern Electric). You could see if that works. The website URL I use is http://discussions.agilebits.com and that works for me.
Let us know how you get along.
