Date selector does not correspond to system settings

My date format settings are "DD MMM YYYY" for the medium length setting which 1Password seems to use for display. When I edit a record, it switches to what I presume is the standard for US: "MM/DD/YYYY". I think this is a bug...

    Please provide more information. Please tell us:

    1. what version of 1P you are using on your Mac (go to 1P > About 1Password and tell us exactly what it says there);
    2. your OS X version number;
    3. what your OS X language and region are set to (OS X System Preferences > Language & Region).

    1. 1P 5.1 (510035)
    2. 10.10.2
    3. US with custom date settings as described above.

    Hi @zimmerleut,

    That is odd but it's also not us, it's OS X in this instance.

    Check out the date part of System Preferences > Date & Time. If you use iCal (oops, or Calendar as it is now known) at all you can see it there too. If you view an entry it uses the medium format to display but if you edit the date it does exactly what you're seeing in 1Password. I can confirm with the devs a little later but I'd say we're making use of an OS X library call and it's returning that to us.

    I can't explain why they do this, merely this was my findings when I went exploring your observations. At best we can report it but it might be a while before Apple reacts on the information.

    Let us know if you find anything that doesn't match with my findings though.

    Hah! I hadn't noticed this behaviour in iCal. Just to confirm, my short date format is set to DD-MM-YYYY, so this clearly is an Apple bug. I'll file a report with them.

    I'm glad @littlebobbytables was able to help you figure out what was happening! Hopefully Apple will be able to solve this. If you have more questions about 1Password, just let us know - we're here for you! :)
