Really Silly Question - Storing Docs Securely on IOS Devices having sync'd from iTunes
Hi, a newbie to 1Password and wondered if you can securely store files on iOS devices having sync'd them across from iTunes. It lets you copy docs across from the file sharing area of the Apps tab but I can't see how to access the files from the iDevice!!! Sorry if I'm being stupid.
Thanks, Julian

Hi @Jred55,
It's best not to view your iOS device as an open computer like a Mac or Windows machine. Most apps don't allow for storage of files at all and with 1Password that facility is there for one very specific reason, to allow a user to copy a backup of their vault from their iOS device or to copy a previous backup onto the device to allow restoration. Any other files you place in there won't be read by 1Password and can't be read by any other app due to sandboxing.
Now, I even though other apps won't be able to access the space I wouldn't consider it secure. If you want to securely add a file to your vault you want to do so from within 1Password for Mac. When you edit an item you should see an attachments section where you can either drag and drop files or use the choose file... button. Now viewing files in iOS will require that iOS knows how to read them. It will cope with png and jpg files as well as pdf files but much beyond those basic types and I just couldn't say for certain. Of course you're free to experiment by adding an attachment, syncing the vault and then seeing if it can display it.
Let us know if that helped at all but if you have any more questions or feel something wasn't described in enough detail please do ask/say
