Password Generator isn't honoring repeating characters

I've been finding that the password generator isn't honoring the "Allow characters to repeat" option. This latest password it generated took the cake.

6el>HhNLiULP>8Ct

It repeats L and > . That's specifically what I DON'T want. Is anyone else having this?

See this post and, generally, the thread in which it appears.

Huh.. Interesting. Thanks for pointing that out.

So 1password's stance is that repeat characters is OK in a strong password as long as they aren't consecutive?

In fact, they argue that to eliminate the possibility of repeated characters would narrow the search space for a cracking program to analyze, thus weakening the password.

Well.. I guess I see that, setting any specific rule could narrow a result, but an attacker wouldn't necessarily know that rule is or isn't in place to begin with. I suppose it's a small thing; there's just something hard-wired in my brain that repeated characters is an exploitable attack vector in cryptography.

    Thanks for info guys.
