One iOS and two different computers (separate vaults)
I have two computers - A and B and there is one iPhone.
Both computers have different vaults.
I want computer A to have vault of A and vault of B, both.
I want computer B to have vault of only B and not of A.
I want iPhone to have vaults of A and B, both.
Currently the iPhone is synced with computer A.
Can I sync the vault of computer B with iPhone - and this vault being additional vault on iPhone?
If so, can I, then, sync iPhone second vault B to computer A so that computer A has now vaults A and B both?

Hi @vipson,
This should be completely doable using multiple vaults via Dropbox, at least for Vault B.
Make sure Vault A is set up to sync and that the iOS app is syncing to it. This can be done via either iCloud or Dropbox, your choice. On iOS, Vault A should be set as the Primary vault when you go to 1Password > Settings > Vaults.
Now, on computer B, set up vault B to sync via Dropbox. On Computer A, add Vault B as a secondary vault. To do this, open your Dropbox folder on Computer A, locate Vault B, and double click it. 1Password will pop up ands if you want to add the vault. Bingo, you now have Vaults A & B on Computer A, while only having Vault B on Computer B.
On iOS, go back to 1Password > Settings > Vaults, and tap Add Vault. Select Vault B in the list of vaults it shows from Dropbox, and then it will be added as a secondary vault.
That should do the trick.

unfortunately, while in company environment, we are discouraged using DropBox/in other words it gets reported.

Hi @vipson,
If computer A is a Mac running 1Password 5.2 for Mac and these two computers both have access to a single network share or the company does not object to pen drives then you could use a combination of Folder Sync and Wi-Fi Sync. Computer A would have to be a Mac though as it is currently the only version of 1Password besides 1Password for iOS that can Wi-Fi Sync multiple vaults.
If that could apply to you let us know and we can go into the details and see if it will work for you.

Good point but in my case both are Windows laptop and company does not allow thumb drives. Both computers are on the same wifi network, though.

I use DropBox for other general needs but for such things I don't like to put things on cloud - not at least on DropBox/Box/OneDrive. I may use iCloud..but still prefer not going over cloud. 1Password by default does not put things on cloud and that was one of the reason I chose this product over other.

Hi @vipson,
Unfortunately, 1Password 4 for Windows cannot currently sync with a secondary vault in 1Password for iOS via Wi-Fi sync. So I'm afraid the only way to achieve the setup you described in your original post would be to use Dropbox sync - at least for Computer/Vault B.
I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you about that! If you have more questions or need help to set that up, please let us know.

Going with DropBox route - I opened copied vault of Computer B on Computer A, and then moved the vault to Dropbox. Then opened the original master vault on computer A.
When I double click on vault under dropbox folder of Computer A it simply opens up into sub-directories and does not ask for getting added as secondary vault.
What am I missing?0 -
Correct, but in that case it is not opened as secondary vault to the primary/main vault. What I am trying is to have both vaults (one as primary and other as secondary) like what I see in iOS. Though, I agree that at least now I have two out of three devices/machines in sync. The only issue I have to work on is how to get vault of Computer B to Dropbox/in sync.

1Password 4 for Windows does not use the primary/secondary vault concept that 1Password 5 for Mac and 1Password 5 for iOS have. To 1Password for Windows a vault is a vault. There is no primary or secondary designation.
