Purchase of 1Password 5 upgrade
I have had 1P 3 Single for 3 or 4 years. I would like to upgrade to 5. I have downloaded 5 and it works on my Mac Mini. I can not find a place to upgrade. Some place I saw that I had gotten P 3 from the APP STORE.

I have found where I could upgrade to P 5. The problem now is I have 2 upgrades. I guess that I can find some where I can reverse one upgrade.

Hi @Alvin_Banman ,
I'm sorry to hear that you've been having trouble here. If you purchased 1Password 3 from the App Store, you should be able to update automatically to 1Password 4, and 1Password 5 when you have the appropriate operating system installed (for example, 1Password 5 will require OS X 10.10). It's important that you are logged in to the App Store with the same AppleID as you made your original purchase.
I'd be happy to help you if you've paid for the upgrade accidentally. I took a look in our back office records but was unable to find any licenses registered to the email address attached to your forum account. Could you provide a bit more detail on how we can help you here? Do you have an extra copy of 1Password that you want to safely remove? Or do we need to track down a payment and have it reversed?

I have a somewhat similar problem. I had version 3 for years, and then when I upgraded to 1Password 5 I was guided to do the upgrade on the website (I think at the time the AppStore version was not ready). The website version however does not sync with iCloud and the solution recommended is to download the software from AppStore. I have tried to do that but I am requested to pay (again) although I did already pay for the upgrade on the website? So what are my options ?

Hi @Melinda_P,
Thanks for taking the time to write in! I was able to locate your license information in our back office records using the email address attached to your forum account. I see a purchase of 1Password 3, along with a later upgrade to 1Password 4 (in 2013.) The update from 1Password 4 to 1Password 5 was a free update, so you would have been presented with the option to install the latest version when you updated to OS X 10.10 (Yosemite), with no need to 'upgrade' your licensing details through our store.
Now, you're correct. In iOS 8/ OS X 10.10 (Yosemite), Apple made some big changes to iCloud, and as a result of those changes, the webstore version of 1Password is unable to support iCloud sync. Here's how we can move forward:
- We can set up Dropbox or Wi-Fi sync. Both are automatic and can handle the syncing of multiple vaults.
- You can purchase the Mac App Store version of 1Password to take advantage of iCloud sync. Unfortunately, Apple doesn't provide us with a way to transfer licenses from our store to theirs, and your purchase was made too long ago for me to be able to put through a refund.
Please let me know how you wish to proceed - we're here if you have any questions or concerns!
