I recently had a corrupted Keychain. My tech repair guy restored my keychain but 1Password is not functional (null). How do I restore and retrieve my passwords? Thanks.

I'm assuming you are referring to 1P for Mac. What version of 1P are you using please and did you buy if from AgileBits or from the Mac App Store?

Corruption of your OS X keychain should not affect 1P so I suspect the corruption and the inability to use 1P may not be not linked (unless by something like a failing disk).

    Please try this:

    1. Drag the 1P app to the trash (don't use any app cleaner tool, which is likely to try to delete files you need to keep).
    2. Empty the trash and reboot.
    3. Re-download and re-install 1P.

If that doesn't help please tell us exactly what happens when you try to open 1P. Is there an error message? If so, what is it?

Thanks Stephen. Yes, it is for Mac but I also have for IOS on iPhone and iPad. I'll straighten out Mac first and then see if IOS works.

Also I had 5.2. I believe I bought directly from you, but it's been awhile so I'm not 100% sure.

Ok, partial success. However, when I enter my password, the "sliding doors" open and close quickly.

    Hi @Dave145,

One cause of that particular errant behaviour is if you have multiple copies of 1Password on your machine.

It might be worth checking that you have a single copy of the 1Password application in your /Applications/ folder and then check your Downloads folder and Desktop for any additional copies.

If you find other copies then I would drag the redundant copies of the application to your Trash (it won't affect your data as long as you don't use any app cleaners) and then reboot your Mac just to make sure no processes unless they're meant to be.

Now if after that you are still having problems then I think we will need to see a diagnostic report in order to delve a little deeper into what is happening.

I'd like to ask you to create a Diagnostics Report from your Mac.

Then attach the entire file to an email to us: support+ forum@agilebits.com

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

Once you've sent the Report a post here with the ticket ID will help us to keep an eye out for it. :)

Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks in advance!
