Downloaded 1Password 5 but can't sync with iCloud
Hi,
I've just upgraded to Yosemite and downloaded 1password 5. When I try to click on "I've used 1password before", I don't get an option to sync with iCloud. Please help!

Hi @EliotJohnson,
Where did you purchase 1Password for Mac from and did you download it from the same place when you upgraded to 1Password 5?
I couldn't find a record of a purchase based on your email address used here in the forums. It doesn't mean a lot as you may have purchased it using a different email address or you may have purchased it from Apple's Mac App Store (MAS).
What it does sound like you've done though is download 1Password 5 directly from our site. Now if you're a MAS owner then this is the wrong copy and you actually want to download it via Apple's App Store. Firstly, it will be properly licensed and won't bug you later with a trial expired message but more importantly you will regain your iCloud option.
As of iOS 8 and Yosemite Apple released an upgraded version of iCloud. It included a framework called CloudKit which is used for syncing. We make use of this framework in 1Password 5 but the framework is limited to those applications sold directly through Apple's stores. Sadly this means our Agile Web Store (AWS) version can no longer access iCloud. For more details on this particular even I would draw your attention towards Dave Teare's announcement, iCloud Changes in the Website Version of 1Password 5.
You probably have follow up questions after that so do please ask. If you're an AWS customer though and it was more than 30 days ago since you purchased 1Password for Mac then sadly your options are limited. As I say, if you have questions do please ask.
