1Password for Mac 5.3x disappeared and won't reload with error "Check with the developer to make sure 1Password 5 works with this version of OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OS X" I think this happened after a beta update yesterday. Help please!

I was able to restore 1Password5 from a Time Machine backup about a week old. Everything seems to be working now but I am afraid to run any updates.

    Please try this:

    1. Drag the 1P app to the trash (don't use any app cleaner tool, which is likely to try to delete files you need to keep).
    2. Empty the trash and reboot.
    3. Re-download and re-install 1P.

I think you'll find that solves the problem.

About, License and Preference menu items do nothing. Check or Updates throws "The application “1Password Updater.app” could not be launched because it was not found." Otherwise it seems to be working OK.

Did you do as I mentioned in post #4? If you've already done that is it possible that you have more than one copy of 1P on your disk, or on any disk attached to your Mac (including any permanently attached backup disk)? If you're running OS X Yosemite having more than one copy of 1P on any of those disks can cause the problems you mention.

Thanks Stephen. I had put the old copy of the app on the desktop. Once move to trash the menus worked fine and no reboot was required.

Glad to hear Stephen_C managed to sort you out @zonca.

As this seems to be resolved I'm going to close this thread but if you have any questions or issues in the future don't hesitate to post!
