Two different KeyChains in DropBox

Why do I have a "1Password.agilekeychain" file and a separate "1Password" folder in my DropBox? Even worse, they both appear to be changing their modification dates when I add a new Password. Which one should I keep. I have a MacBook air, an iPhone, and an iPad that use my 1Password settings. I am currently on 1Password 5, and on a iMac running Yosemite.

  • Hi @mikewson,

There are two ways that 1Password can set you up by default via Dropbox. The first is to install your agilekeychain at:

    Dropbox/1Password/1Password.agilekeychain

    The other is at:

    Dropbox/Apps/1Password/1Password.agilekeychain

Depending which app (for Mac, for iOS, etc..) you use, where it creates the initial agilekeychain should be one of those two locations unless you specified otherwise. If you have both of these, then that's probably not what you want. You should go look on all of your devices to look at where they're syncing exactly, and possibly move them over by reconfiguring sync and having them all point to the same agilekeychain file.

    I hope this helps.

    Rick
