How to WiFi Sync to iOS WITHOUT synching the primary vault?

When I do a wi-fi sync, the "primary vault" is grayed out and unelectable.

Regardless of the "security", I do not want my primary vault on my iOS device.

I also did not see a way, once 1Password synched my primary vault, which I did not want in the first place, to then REMOVE the primary vault from the iOS device.

I only want to sync a secondary vault to the iOS device.

Hopefully, I'm just missing an interface item here.

I do NOT want my primary vault file on my iphone. Period.

Look forward to your reply.

Thanks,

You cannot currently use wifi sync to sync only a secondary vault. The primary vault will sync at the same time, as you have discovered.

    Hi @Mork,

Sorry but Stephen_C is correct. Currently if you want to sync a secondary vault from your Mac as the primary on your iOS device your only option is Dropbox. Wi-Fi Sync, as you may be aware has only recently been improved to allow secondary vault sync and prior to this was designed to only sync the Primary vault. While the developers have improved Wi-Fi Sync greatly it works on top of the existing code rather than being a re-write.

If the use of Dropbox is acceptable then what you want to achieve is definitely possible. If you are okay with that suggestion and need assistance just say and we'll help with the steps required.

Can you please tell me if AgileBits has or will soon stopped requiring me to always sync the master vault with IOS? I never, ever, want to sync my primary/master vault with IOS so I'm forced to conform to the how the product behaves instead of vice versa.

I would like to be able to pick the one (or possibly more) vault that I want to sync from the Mac to IOS and not be forced to sync the master vault.

If you've already added this change, it would be good to hear about. :)

If not, hopefully, you can add this feature soon so I can use the wifi sync for my needs.

    Thanks,

    Hi @Mork,

I noticed you asked about this several months ago on our iOS support forum, so I merged your new post with that existing discussion. I hope you don't mind!

Currently, Wi-Fi sync still works the way it did back in March, meaning the Primary vault will always be synced, but you can choose which secondary vaults do or do not sync between your Mac and iOS device. That has not been changed in the latest stable version or any current betas. I honestly don't know whether or not that will change in future versions. It's not a simple change, so it would require a considerable amount of time and effort to alter the Wi-Fi sync mechanism in order to do that (keep in mind that we're a small team with limited resources).

It's certainly possible that our developers will be able to do this in a future version, but I don't have any sort of timeframe for if/when that would happen. I completely understand why that feature would be helpful for you though, and I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you about that.

If you have more questions, please let us know! :)
