New version of Safari found....

Helping my 86 year old mother who is Mac savvy having used a Mac since the beginning. She just upgraded to a new iMac running Yosemite. Her old Mac was older than the hills but was running 1Password. When the new iMac came home, I transferred her user and library files. Since her version of 1Password was so old, she purchased the latest version via iTunes. Everything is working splendidly (syncs via Dropbox), but a window always pops up saying:
New version of Safari found. 1 Password 3.5.15 does not support Safari 8.0.3 (build #10600.3.18). Please open 1Pasword and use the 1Password > Check For Updates menu item to see if there is an update available. After upgrading, you must restart Safari before the 1Password extension will appear. Check details.....

What do we need to do to get rid of this message? Thanks very much.

  • Hi @Holt26,

It sounds like there may be some leftovers from 1Password 3.

Could you please give this a try:

    • Open Finder and under the Go menu select: Go to Folder…

    • Enter this text and click Go: ~/Library/LaunchAgents

    • From the Finder window that opens, delete this file: ws.agile.1PasswordAgent.plist

    • Select Go > Go to Folder… again and enter: ~/Library/Application Support/1Password

    • From the Finder window, delete this folder: Agent

    • Empty Trash and restart your Mac.

Please let me know whether or not that fixes the issue. :)
