Password Generator didn't remember the password for a login, now I'm locked out!
I used 1Password's Password Generator to create a better password for a website I use, but 1Password failed to update the login info it has saved for that site. Which means I'm now locked out of that site!
This is so frustrating...What good is 1Password if it skips the part where it actually saves the very password it generates for me when I update my login info? Now I'm spending time with tech support for the website trying to convince them to let me back in, because it really was just this piece of software that screwed up my account info for me.

vistaprint.com is a site where 1Password failed to save the new login it generated for me. I was using Firefox, though, not Chrome, although I've verified that the setting to automatically save new logins" IS active.

Have you looked in your Passwords category? Generated passwords not specifically linked to a saved login are saved there.

Hi @MattOKC,
I moved your message from another thread to this discussion which you started for the same issue. I'm sorry you're having trouble updating your Login password!
As with regular Login forms on websites, the form to change a password is different on every site, and 1Password isn't always able to detect a password change on every site. However, if you click the Fill button (or if you click the ▼ button next to Fill and choose Copy) when using the Password Generator in the 1Password extension, that will create a new Password item in 1Password (which is what Stephen mentioned). Just open the main 1Password app, click on the Passwords category on the left sidebar, and you should see a new item for the new password you generated (you can sort the list by Date Created if it helps).
Please take a look at this knowledgebase article for more information about recovering unsaved passwords.
I hope that helps you recover the new password! If you have more questions about that, please let us know - we're always happy to help!
