Uninstalling previous version of 1Password

I'm running 1P 5.1 and found I also have 1P 3.8.21 on my iMac. I also have a ? on my dock that says "1 Password 4".

Do the two versions use any shared files?
If I use Clean My Mac to remove version 3.8 will that affect any parts of 5.1?
Can I simply pull the "?" off the dock or do I have to uninstall it?

    I would not, frankly, use Clean My Mac for anything...but that's just me! To uninstall 1P3 go to this page of the knowledge base which will give you all the help you need. You can uninstall 1P3 without affecting 1P4/1P5—but of course you'll want first to be sure 1P4/1P5 has all your 1P data.

    Sort out 1P3 first then come back with the 1P4 problem if it still exists. That sounds a little odd to me and I'm not quite sure what's going on there.

    Hi @SMSW,

    Please do read @Stephen_C's post. We strongly advise against the use of app cleaning programs as your vault resides in the ~/Library/ folder and you don't want an overzealous app removing that.

    As for the dock query, that is nice and easy. The question mark is because what was linked to is no longer there (I'm guessing you've deleted 1Password 4 or it was removed as part of the update process. Simply dragging the question mark off the dock won't affect anything and is safe to do.
