1Password and Dropbox-syncing Question

Hi,
i am using 1Password 4 & 5 for a while now. I am using it on OSX, and iOS Devices (sycing via Dropbox).
It all works fine but i am wondering the following:

For e.g. i just turn on my MacBook and its sycing via Dropbox. On the topright of my display a get a OSX-Yosemite-notification tells me that 30 files are deleted (by dropbox). But i dont changed any items in 1P for like 4-6 days. So i manually logged me into the dropbox.com-account and checked the history. There is stands the following:

You deleted the file ED24AC....1password and 29 other files 5min ago.

After that i clicked the dropbox-icon on OSX menu-bar and i checked the "recently changed itemes", but there it stands "last edit file 87EA7ANC..." 6 Days ago.

I was confused and i opened 1P on my iPad. After that i checked the history on dropbox.com again and it shows "file DS2A2...1paswword" deleted 20 sec ago. ago. But on my MacBook i dont get any notification that 1 files has been removed.
Is that normal? Maybe the iOS Devices removed some cache or redownloading some items altouth i dont changed them ?!??!!

I checked the quanity of items on every device and vaults and it seems to be the same. So i dont thing that i have syncing-issues. Just wanted to know if that is normal?

Thanks

@bogomil22 I have moved your post from the Lounge to the 1P for Mac forum where you will get more help.

    Thanks.
To get a better idea what i mean i included two pretty recent taken screenshots (they are in German but i translated the important things).
Screenshot 1 shows the history/event-page from dropbox.com-account -> You can see that a lot of files were deleted, not just today. But i dont deleted any item in 1Password-Application for at least 6 Days.
Screenshot 2 shows the dropbox-application on OSX. -> You can see that the last edit on an item/file is 6 days ago.

As i mentioned above, i observe that the removed files in the history/event-page of the dropbox.com-account appears when i sync my iOS Devices.

    Hi @bogomil22,

I'm at a loss to explain what you're seeing I'm afraid. I know the times between the event log on Dropbox's website and the client on your machines can differ but I can only make this happen where the client shows a newer time stamp. That's easy enough to reproduce if the machine hasn't synced for a whiles it's only just now picking up the changes from the last while. What I can't do though is have the the timestamps in the way you have it while Dropbox also says that it's up to date (the tick in the bottom left hand corner).

Can I ask, if you create a test item on the machine in question, are they visible everywhere and if you then delete the item does it get deleted everywhere?

If it's doing that then whatever this blip is it doesn't seem to be affecting 1Password. I wish I could ease your concerns more but I'm puzzled.

    Thanks for your answer.
I create a test item and i saw that item on all my devices. Then i deleted that item and its moved to trash on all devices. So i guess syncing is working fine.
PS: I checked the whole even-log (not only the near past) on the dropbox.com-website and in the past this never happens that so many files (like 26 or more) were deleted. That so many files were deleted appears only on feb 28 to yesterday. I dont know why (i dont do anything special on feb28 to yesterday).

Bad to hear that you are puzzled, unfortunately i can't give you any further or more detailed informations like the screenshots :) But the fact that you dont know that "issue" is an indication that something goes wrong. So do you recommend to disable the dropbox sync on all devices and then re-enable it so that a fresh sync will be started?
    Thanks

    Hi @bogomil22,

I would only recommend disabling sync if something was messed up and syncing wasn't happening at all. If you're finding though that that an addition and deletion on one device is visible on all I would suggest instead to wait and see if anything similar happens again. You may find it was a one-off event not to be observed again.

    Hi @littlebobbytables ,
i just checked the dropbox event log and its all good. I guess it was an one-off event.
    Thanks for your help.
