One Password and Menu Bar

I have a MacBook Pro and Use OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 How do I get One Password to appear on the menu bar so that I can go to One Password Preferences, etc. ? I am new to One Password, struggling with the lack of personal phone support and embarrassed to ask such a basic question. It seems that when I click on the One Password icon on the menu bar, I should see One Password in the menu bar. Thanks to anyone who is willing to help this novice.

The menu bar icon is for 1Password Mini, which is a key component of 1Password. Much of what you need can be done fine from there.

As you say, you have to open 1Password itself in order to get to the 1PW preferences. This is actually easy. One 1PW Mini, and top right (same line as Search) is a gear wheel. Click that to get a menu which includes Open 1Password.

Or, of course, you could just use Spotlight to open 1Password. Press Cmd-Space to open Spotlight, type 1p (or 1pa, or maybe just 1) and Spotlight shows you 1Password, at which point press Return to open it. Your choice.

    Hi @LindaME,

I hope danco's response helped to answer your question. If not, it will help if you can elaborate on what you're trying to do. If you're simply trying to find the preferences for 1Password, you can do that from the main 1Password app. That's normally found in the Applications folder, but if you don't see it there, danco's suggestions should help.

Once you open the main 1Password app, you can go to 1Password > Preferences in the menu bar.
