To Bank Account Or Not To Bank Account (that is my question)

Question for you guys. The login category is great. Has that nice little button I can easy-click to launch the URL. And the bank category is great...a nice place to store my bank numbers. But what about logins FOR a bank account? I figured I would start with the Bank Account and create some custom fields for the URL, ID, and password. But then I lose the ability to easy-click to pull up the URL. I didn't care at the time...but it's actually kinda cumbersome without it. Which made me think there is a better way and I'm missing it? That is my question.

If there isn't, I can think of one right now. They say a picture is worth a thousand words...

There have been lots of requests to allow logins from other categories than the Login one. I don't know how hard it might be to code that, but for the moment at least, most users have two records for banks, credit cards, and email accounts. One has all the information about the nature of the account, and then there is another parallel one in Logins to do the work of giving automatic access to the web sites. You can use tags to connect them logically, if you like. That's my approach.

    Hi @paranoyd,

    Something like this perhaps?

That's a partial screenshot of our current beta. Now it isn't a complete solution, you won't be able to fill using a Bank Account item but that's a more tricky issue I believe because of backwards compatibility and how far through the code the hardcoded categories go. So for many there will still be a Bank Account item covering particular static fields such as account number, sort-code etc and a Login item. Still, it should allow you to add desired fields to items.

    What do you think?
