Space for Password Not Large Enough

Having trouble logging in for the first time. Created a password which was validated by re-entering when creating it. When I tried to log in for the first time (immediately), it appears that the space provided is not big enough (i.e., it does not reflect the acceptance of any additional characters/numbers as I type) to accept the password, resulting in an error/invalid password. The application was downloaded from the Apple Store. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried to just keep typing until you've entered your entire password? Mine is long enought that no new asterisks seem to be appearing, but the password still works correctly.

Thanks for the suggestion hawkmoth. I did try that (i.e., kept typing to complete selected password) but to no avail. Seems weird that it will let you save a longer password that it accepts for visualization when entering it. For now, the app is dead to me.

    Hi @higgye,

The Secure Event field, where you type your password is a field control by Apple's framework and with good reason. The point behind it is to secure it against key loggers etc. and so it's a special kind of field. My understanding is we don't have a huge amount of control over much of it like visualisation.

I just created a 50 character password consisting of alphanumerics and symbols and it worked fine in both changing the password and subsequent unlocking of the vault.

My suggestion would be to follow our Starting Over guide which will allow you to create a new vault. Let us know how you get along.
