When I try to sync with iCloud, the option is not available under the Preferences - Sync dropdown box. iCloud is definitely enabled and I have the option for iCloud sync open on my iPhone. Tried rebooting computer and switching iCloud off and on again but no luck. Any advice?

If you bought your license from the AgielBits web store, Apple made a change with the advent of Yosemite that makes the protocols needed in 1Password 5 for iCloud syncing available only if you have to version purchased directly from Apple at the Mac App Store.

If you are using the AgileBits trial version and you want iCloud sync, be sure to buy your license there.

Dropbox, WiFi, and Folder Sync are available in both versions, as well as on iOS.

    Hi @gad509,

I tried searching our records for the email address you're using here in the forums but I didn't find anything. It doesn't mean much as if you have purchased from us you could have used a different email address.

Everything hawkmoth told you is true. Part of the new iCloud Drive is a framework called CloudKit. CloudKit is what we use to perform iCloud Sync in 1Password iCloud frameworks are now restricted to applications purchased directly from one of Apple's stores. Obviously this doesn't impact on iOS apps but it does mean that as of 1Password 5, there is a feature difference between the Agile Web Store (AWS) and Mac App Store (MAS) version which we didn't want. For more information on this there is Dave Teare's announcement, iCloud Changes in the Website Version of 1Password 5.

If you have any further questions do please ask.

Thanks for the prompt and helpful feedback, hawkmoth and littlebobbytables. I realized that the iCloud wouldn't work with the trial version. Problem solved when I purchased it!

So right now, I have two 1password applications in my Apps folder: 1password 5 ****(56.8 MB) - downloaded yesterday as the trial; and 1password (51.6 MB) - downloaded today with purchase. Are both applications necessary or can one be deleted; if so which one?

Thanks again for your assistance. Great product (so far) and impressive service

You can just drag the one you aren't going to use to the trash and empty the trash. In your case, this would be 1Password 5.app to delete. But be sure your data show in the version you plan to keep (1Password.app), before you remove anything.
