Issue after Security Update

I installed OS X Security update 2015-002 today ( I am running OS X 10.10.2) after which the Macbook rebooted.
Upon restart a dialog box appeared saying that 1Password is incompatible and has been moved to the folder "Incompatible Software"
Checking this folder I find two files 1PasswordIM (date modified Sep 2011) and AppData.plist (date modified Oct 2014)
1Password seems to be working OK though.
Any idea what is going on here?

I suspect someone from AgileBits will pick this up in due course but I think there's nothing to worry about. I'm pretty sure the first file you mention is a relic from 1P3. I don't know what the second file may be but I don't have it on my system and, like you, 1P5 is working fine. It might be helpful if you'd just confirm what version of 1P you are running. (I also installed the security update but didn't get any message about incompatible software.)

    Stephen_C, thanks for your response.
Its 1Password Version 5.1 (510027) Mac App Store.

    Hi @toasted,

Thanks for letting us know! As long as 1Password 5 is working correctly for you, you can ignore the "Incompatible Software" message you received. 1Password 5.1 is definitely compatible with Mac OS 10.10.2 and the latest security update. I don't have either of the files you mentioned on my own Mac, but I know for sure that 1PasswdIM.bundle is from an older version of 1Password and is not part of version 5. The other file you mentioned is either from some other software, or also from an old version of 1Password.

Again, as long as version 5 works, you don't need to worry about that message or the older files from old versions of 1Password. If you have more questions about that or need anything else, please let us know! :)

Me again. I installed another OS X Security update this time 2015-003 today ( I am running OS X 10.10.2 and 1Password Version 5.1 (510027) Mac App Store) after which the Macbook rebooted.

Upon restart a dialog box appeared saying that 1Password is incompatible and has been moved to the folder "Incompatible Software"

Checking this folder I again find two files 1PasswordIM.bundle (date modified Sep 2011) and AppData.plist (date modified Oct 2014) - these are the same as last time... even though i deleted them from the "Incompatible Software" folder after the 2015-002 update described previously in this thread.

Again, 1Password seems to be working OK though.

    Weird eh?

    Hi @toasted,

Thanks for reporting this again, I'm sorry that it's continuing to bug you!

Looks like you have a few remnants of an older version of 1Password on your system. They have nothing to do with 1Password 5, so we can remove them safely. Have a look in /Library/InputMangers and ~/Library/InputMangers - do you see those files there? If so, just drag them to the Trash and empty the Trash. :)

/Library/InputManagers contained folder 1PasswordIM within file contained in that directory.
    I deleted this.

In ~/Library there is no subfolder ~/Library/InputMangers on my macbook.

    Lets see what happens.

    Thanks for your help.

On behalf of @Megan, you're very welcome! I'll keep my fingers crossed too, so hopefully that's enough crossed fingers to ensure all goes well with the next OS update. ;)

But as always, if you run into more problems, we're here for you!
