I have a strong 30 character master password on my 1Password. Since upgrading to iOS 8.2, I can NO LONGER login to any of my iOS devices. I tried deleting the app, re-downloading it, but still unable gain access to 1Password on iOS.

    I think we need more information, please. I'm using 1P5 on two iOS devices both of which have been updated to iOS 8.2 and can still log in successfully on both. (My master password is a little shorter than yours but I can't imagine why that would make a difference.)

    Please tell us:

    1. what iOS devices and model numbers are you using;
    2. whether you sync your 1P data and if so what sync method you use and with what version of 1P;
    3. whether you have recently changed your master password.

    1. We are using 1Password 5.2.1 on iPhone 6+ and iPad Air (4 iOS devices for my wife and I).
    2. 1Password is sync via Dropbox (1Password Pro ver. 5.2.1).
    3. The 30 character master password has not been updated for over 9 months.

    Everything worked great up until yesterday when I upgraded to iOS 8.2. Nothing else was changed in our environment.

  • Hi @Jellyree,

    Are you able to login to 1PasswordAnywhere (from a computer)?

    Please let us know.

    Yes, I'm able to access 1Password on OS X Mountain Lion and Yosemite via Dropbox with no issues whatsoever. As a matter of fact, both OS X machines are on different releases of 1Password.

    I only have problems with devices running iOS 8.2 - everything was working fine up until the upgrade to iOS 8.2.

  • Sorry -- I'm not sure I was clear. I was asking if you were able to login to the '1PasswordAnywhere' feature of 1Password, not if you were able to access '1Password anywhere.' :)

    You can read about the 1PasswordAnywhere feature here:

    Yes, I'm able to access 1Password via Dropbox using 1PasswordAnywhere with Safari within my local network.
    I still think it's an iOS 8.2 compatibility issues with 1Password in conjunction with my long mixed case, special character password.

    Has anyone at Agilebits tried to replicated my issue with 8.2 by using a long mixed cased, numeric, and special character combination password? I'm sure my problem would go away if I made my password shorter and simpler, but this would defeat the purpose of security. Beside, it took me a while to burn-in the current master password into my brain and commit the key strokes to muscle memory.

  • I'm running iOS 8.2 and don't have any difficulty. I also just tried creating a new vault with a 50 character Master Password (generated by 1Password) with 10 special characters and had no problem syncing that through Dropbox with my iPhone 6 running iOS 8.2.

    I'd like to ask you to create a Diagnostics Report from your device: https://guides.agilebits.com/kb/1password4/en/topic/diagnostics-report

    Then attach the entire file to an email to us: support+forum@agilebits.com

    Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

    A short note here with your ticket ID once you've sent the Report in will help us to keep an eye out for it. :)

    Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks in advance!

    Question: Would the 'Diagnostics Report' expose my Master Password? My Vault? If it does, I would prefer to change my password,

    No - and you can view the report yourself before you send it if you are worried about what it might contain.

    @Jellyree Stephen_C is correct. The Diagnostic Report tell us about your system in general. We use this information solely for the purpose of diagnosing the issue you contacted us about.

    The DR, as we call it, tells us about your 1Password data, but does not share any of the actual data itself. The data gathered generally include system logs that may tell us about other software and browser extensions that you are running. Again, there is no actual password information being shared in the DR.
