Only needing PIN code to login, long after use!
I've noticed this for the past couple of months, and it's seriously unsafe, were I to lose my iphone: I'm never (seemingly) asked for my master pw, even after I've restarted the iphone. I'm asked merely for my 4 digit pin and it's wide open! Secure? Not very!
On v 5.2.1 on an iPhone 5.

What are your Lock settings under Settings > Security?

Lock on exit: on. Auto lock: 2 min. Pin code: one

I'm with you! an email address and a 4 number code to access your entire accounts, credit cards, personal details and the ease at which identity theft could be done, is simply appalling, cheers Paul

@pjmallinson I've no idea where the "email address" business comes from. An email address has nothing to do with unlocking 1P so I am unsure what you refer to.
As I have touch ID enabled iOS devices I'm not sure of this suggestion but I believe you can turn off the PIN code option under 1P for iOS Settings > Security—which, of course, will make 1P ask for your master password on every occasion it locks. If I'm correct that seems to me to resolve the concern at a stroke.
Personally, when I use a PIN code to unlock any iOS device (i.e., when it's insisted upon on reboot) I never rely on a "4 number code". You can, of course, set longer PIN codes in iOS.

thanks Stephen, youre right about the email, that was just to set up the account. I feel slightly better about the pin code, cos I see if you dont get it it right on the first attempt it resorts to master password. I will stick with it for a while, but I wont be putting all of my personal stuff on there unless a second security layer such as memorable word is added. thanks for replying Paul

Following your suggestion, I didnt know you could increase ipad unlock code to more letters or numbers. Have now done that as well now...so feeling even more comfortable with it all. Thanks for that, I'm even feeling a lot less grumpy!
