if someone gets hold of my master code, it doesn't matter how secure everthing else is!
Once some has my master code, he needs nothing else to gain complete access to everything...indeed, 1PW will do it all for him , no matter how encrypted, secure, complicated or long the individual passwords are, even if they are created by 1PW, he simply goes to the website like I would, and press a button! I am horrified that there is'nt even a second layer of entering 1PW such as a memorable word you need to put in random characters from. Even my bank has that.
Am I being dense or is this all correct, if so. " I'm out". I hope it's me being dim and there is an answer. Oh and please don't just tell not to write the master code down cos hackers have very sophisticated software that can crack something simple like one code.
sorry to sound negative but it appears to me like a major flaw in the system, thanks Paul

I think you should be reassured if you read articles in the security knowledge base and, in particular perhaps, "Towards Better Master Passwords".

thanks Stephen but it doesnt reassure me at all! I have chosen a monster password with all the frills, but the same arguments apply if some gets hold of it, and as for the pin code how long would it take someone to put in 4 numbers in the correct order. I am genuinely quite horrified that all you have to do is find my email and a 4 number code and there is everything! cheers Paul

As we have two threads going on this same subject, I'm closing this one and we'll continue in the thread Stephen_C mentioned above.
