Downloaded from site and want to now get from app store

I downloaded 1Password for mac from the agile bits site and now that I realize I need it from the app store to use iCloud to sync I would like to buy the app from the App Store. Will this be a problem? Do I need to remove the original download first?

Just follow the steps in this knowledge base article which tells you exactly how to migrate from the AgileBits store version to the Mac App Store version.
