1Password working PC but not Mac

I bought 1 Password family plan several years back. It still works on my PC (Windows 7) but on my wife's Mac (Yosemite) it says my 30 day trial licence has elapsed. When I go to upgrade screen the only option it shows is for Knox. All I want to do is for both of us to be able to run 1 Password on each of our machines.

Have you had a look at this sticky right at the top of the forum? It explains very clearly the circumstances in which you might see the "trial expired" notice. Which of those fits your wife's case?

I initially bought 1 Password to use on my PC. ( I have no idea which version it was at the time.) I later upgraded to the family plan so my wife could use 1 Password on her Mac. This was a few years ago and I have no idea what version of 1 Password was available at that time. Each of my purchases was with Agile bits, not the Apple store. When I go to the Agile bits page which indicates whether or not I am due to upgrade, it verifies I have current family plan license and the only upgrade available to me is Knox which I don't want. 1 Password works fine on my PC, but not on my wife's Mac. From her Mac I can view the license file but 1Password isn't accepting it. Please help. PS Is there NO way to talk to a person????

If you have a license (file) for version 4, the same license works for version 5. So no upgrade is shown on the store page. But if she is running Yosemite she can download version 5 and use the license.

Has she tried double-clicking the license file. I believe that should accept it. Alternatively, what happens if she chooses License in the 1PW menu.

She is running Yosemite and was using 1Password verion 5 when she started getting the messages that she only had demo license. I sent another request with my user ID to get license file. I followed directions on email and downloaded new version of 1Password. I then double clicked on the license file included in the download and all I get is the window that says "1 Password registration" at the top. Bottom right is button for "find license." I am right back to where I started. I am getting really frustrated. If we could have had a phone chat near the beginning this would all be long over. Please do something solve this problem.

I seem to remember that there is sometimes an issue with double-clicking direct from the file included in the email. Try moving (or copying) that file to the desktop and then double-clicking it (or using Add license).

No luck. After moving license file to desktop then double clicking I still get the "1 Password registration" window. It is not clear to me we are making any progress.

    Hi @RustyForeman,

Here at AgileBits we do actively monitor the forums and do our best to respond to every thread in a timely fashion. At the moment though you've just been talking to other users, loyal fans of 1Password. Now that isn't to say that anything they've told you is wrong but I just want to make sure you realise when you say things like "Please do something solve this problem." that they're simply here contributing their time and knowledge for free.

At the moment we're encouraging the use of the forums as we genuinely believe it's the fastest way to help our users. It took months after the release of iOS 8 and Yosemite to bring our emailing system under control and the response times were a concern. If you prefer we can take this to email, it's just in a lot of instances we can solve the problem here quicker.

Having said all of that, now to your issue. So you definitely have your registration file. If you do it should be a file with the extension .onepassword-license

At this point I know of three ways to register this file with 1Password.

The first two, double clicking on the licence file and adding the licence via the licence window are covered in our troubleshooting page, How do I add my license to 1Password?. The page is useful because it includes screenshots.

The last method is to drag and drop the licence file on top of the dotted circle as shown in his screenshot and highlighted in red.

You know you've done it correctly if it looks like this

where you can see the little green + icon that OS X uses for copying or adding.

What I'm curious about though is you mention having a button that says Find License. I only get that specific button once my copy of 1Password is registered as shown below.

Prior to that there are two buttons, Add License and Buy Now.

So I'm curious as to what you're seeing when you open up the licence window. It might help to post a screenshot like I have of your licence window if it doesn't match any of these and hopefully we'll be able to resolve this quickly.

First off, thanks for letting me know I have been in dialog with fellow 1Password users, not support. Good to know. Just now got back to my wife's computer and for reasons I can not explain the problem is resolved. I started by looking at the dialog box and I now longer get the Trial Mode version. I get the "Thank you for supporting 1Password version. But thanks anyway

    Hi @RustyForeman,

Is it possible 1Password has been closed down since you were last trying or maybe even the machine has been rebooted or turned off? None of them should be required but maybe something simply wasn't displaying properly leading to the confusion.

If you're getting a "Thank you for supporting 1Password!" message though you should be good now. If you have any issues though please do post
