1Password mini connection to 1Password fails
Hi.
For some time I have tried to find a solution by myself. But it looks like I need help.
Whenever I try to start 1Password mini in my Browser (Safari or Chrome - both) I get following messages:
A new, blanc page (1Password Extension) opens and shows:
"Looking for the 1Password app
The 1Password app must be installed for the extension to work properly."
Below the option "Try again" and "Get the app"
(Try again brings me to the same result; Get the app - no, I have it already and paid for it)
2) The app tries to launch itself and gives me following Message:
"Failure to connect 1Password with 1Password mini
Please start 1Password new. If this does not help, please contact the Agile bits support."
So I am not able to open 1Password mini nor 1Password5
Here is a screenshot of both messages
Plus a screenshot of my system and the Version of 1Password5 I'm using.
This image has been resized to fit in the page. Click to enlarge.
Mac OSX 10.10.3 and 1Password5 5.1and 1Password Extension 4.2.5
Thanks and
looking forward hearing from you

Hi @PonyFluesterer,
So it seems 1Password mini is damaged if even the main application can't load it.
The first suggestion is to try a fresh download of the application and see if that behaves any better. Don't worry, this won't touch your vault.
- Quit both 1Password and 1Password mini. You can do this with the keyboard shortcut
⌃⌘Q
when 1Password is open (it doesn't have to be unlocked). - Drag the 1Password application from your
/Applications/
folder to the Trash. Please don't use an app cleaner. - Reboot your Mac.
- Download 1Password again from our AgileBits Download page as you're an Agile Web Store (AWS) customer.
Hopefully this isn't related to running Apple's 10.10.3 beta. Please do let us know if that makes a difference.

Hi @littlebobbytables,
Thanks for your reply. Do you suggest to delete the Mac OS X App?
What happens to my data?
Thx, Jan0 -
Hi @PonyFluesterer,
This is one aspect I really prefer to Macs. Dragging the 1Password application to your Trash won't touch the support folders unless you have specifically installed and use an app cleaner. Following those instructions merely replaces the executable and the frameworks contained inside the bundle without touching your vault and preference settings.
Does that help?

Hi @littlebobbytables,
I did as you have been describing the workflow, but the result was the same as before.
So what do you suppose next?
Tnx, Jan0 -
Hi @PonyFluesterer,
I think the best route forward will be to request a diagnostic report and see if it highlights anything.
I would like you to create the following Diagnostic Report.
Then attach everything to an email to us: support+ forum@agilebits.com
Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.
Once you've sent the Report a post here with the ticket ID will help us to keep an eye out for it. :)
Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks in advance!
