How do I setup a new login when my username for the new login is not an email address?
I receive the following message after I setup my new login in accordance with the 1Password user manual, and then try to login: “We couldn’t send a password reset email because the address you have provided (my username) is not a valid email address.”
I’m using 1 Password v 5.2.1 on my iPhone 6, IOS v8.1.2, Safari browser.

Are you referring to this forum, the one for AgileBits discussions? If so, you shouldn't use an email address for your user name in any case. Your user name shows with your posts, and you really don't want your email address showing in a public forum, unless you are really fond of receiving spam messages.
You can edit your profile here by clicking on your username at the top of the forum page while you are signed in, there is a dropdown menu to the far right of the next page that includes an option to edit your profile, including your email address.
If you aren't writing about these forums, give us a little more information. I know there are sites that do require an email address as a username, but I would be surprised if one of them would accept a username that isn't an email address.

@regor: Sorry for the trouble! Could you include a link to the manual page you are referring to, or give me a heading, so I can narrow it down?
It sounds like you may be trying to reset your password for the AgileBits website to retrieve your 1Password license key, is that the case? If so, you will need to use the email you used when you originally purchased 1Password from the website to have it sent to you.
If, however, you are trying to reset your Master Password because you have forgotten it, there is not an automated form for this, as we have neither your 1Password data nor your Master Password to unlock it.
I hope this helps. If not, please let me know any relevant details so we can get this sorted out for you! :)

Sorry I didn’t describe my problem clearly, I'll try again. My problem is:
I cannot create a new Login for a website in 1 Password v 5 on my iPhone 6 that works. Here’s what I did:
I followed steps 1 thru 8 from the AgileBits Guide (https://guides.agilebits.com/1password-ios/5/en/topic/create-login) that explains how to “Create a Login Item” in 1 Password.
After I successfully created the new login, I tested it to see if it worked properly and was disappointed to find that it did not automatically sign me in and open the website. Instead the website login screen opened with this error message “We couldn’t send a password reset email because the address you have provided (my username) is not a valid email address.”
The website that I created the login for had pre-assigned my username for me and it was not my email address, it was just a seven-digit username. When I was creating the new login, Step 5 in the AgileBits Guide states “Enter the username or email address you use to log in, then tap the blue arrow to the right.” So I entered my pre-assigned username and tapped the blue arrow.
I tried replacing my username with my email address in the 1 Password Login setup (Step 5) but I received an email (from the website that I created the login for) with a message and link to follow if I forgot my user name or password.
Any help with my problem will be appreciated; otherwise I’ll just have to sign into this website manually and not use 1 Password.

@regor: Ah! Thank you for clarifying that for me. I'm sorry I misunderstood initially. Depending on the site, they may be asking for an email address and password, or a username and password combination.
Were you able to successfully create and use logins for other sites? If you share the address of a specific site you're having difficultly with, I'd be happy to test it myself and see if I can offer a solution -- or see if there is something we can do to improve 1Password in general. I look forward to hearing back from you. :)
