WIFI sync won't proceed

Hi there, on my iPhone I have 1P up to date. Sync using wifi.
Often don't work. Within the app the sync icon gets stuck and won't sync. Closing the app and relaunching won't work. Only fix is to turn off the iPhone and back on again.
Is it a bug? Any work around?
Thanks

@giusep71: I'm sorry to hear that you've been having trouble. And while I'm glad restarting the iPhone does the trick for you, I know that can be a bit annoying!

Have you tried quitting just 1Password (double-tap Home, swipe up to 'toss' 1Password away)? If that doesn't help and it is truly necessary to restart the device itself, it sounds like it could be an iOS issue. I would try turning wifi off and then back on (this can be done quickly in Control Center by swiping up from the bottom of the screen) to see if that helps as well. Occasionally my iPhone stops 'seeing' my AirPlay devices on the network and doing that fixes discovery, so it may be an issue with the Bonjour service.

Let me know if that helps; or, if not, any additional details you can offer, so we can get this sorted out for you! :)

Hi Brenty, quitting the app wouldn't work. Next time I'll try turning wifi off and back on again.
    Thanks

  • Okay, please let us know how it turns out. You may also want to try an ad hoc WiFi network:

    Thanks!

Hi there, turning wifi off and on again triggered sync again.
Strange though that sync would disfunction so many times. Any bug around involving wireless networks? To me it happens even at home where I have one wireless only and all devices are hooked on it.

@giusep71: Excellent! Thanks for letting us know that got it working for you. :+1:

I don't think it has anything to do with the networks themselves, so much as the networking service which runs in the background on iOS 8 (and Yosemite...) and manages the connections just seems to fail silently sometimes. I hear 9 (and 10.11) may have an emphasis on improving things 'under the hood', so /fingerscrossed ;)
