Password confusion

Ok, so my 1PW3 broke in Safari. Downloaded 1PW5 not knowing I should have dowloaded 4 until now. My license now I can not seem to install in Password 5 and my trail is over. Can I degrade to 4, can I get a license for 5?

Question: did you ever pay for an upgrade from version 3 to version 4? If you did, you should be able to reapply the same license file you used to resister version 4.

There was a bug in version 4 that allowed at least some users to continue to use version 4 without registering.

Have you been using version 5 already? Is that the version that has an expired trial notice?

And, the license for version 4 is the same as the license for version 5. There is no charge for that upgrade.

If you never paid to upgrade from version 3, you can get a discount on the upgrade. Go to the AgileBits web store and click the upgrade button for Mac version 5 and enter your license information from version 3. Your upgrade price will be displayed after that.

hawkmoth has given you a fair amount of information there so let us know if there is anything you're still confused over.

Just to add though, 1Password 3 should still work. I keep a working copy on my Yosemite machine for helping those asking in the legacy forum and I haven't come across anything that fatally stops 1Password 3 in any of the main browsers. Let us know if you want to explore that route or if you decide to go down the route of upgrading and trying out one of the newer versions.
