1PW for iPhone and iPad is now free (they used to charge) with an in-app purchase of extra features should you want them.
I'm not sure how you set up initially on an iDevice (as I set up on my Mac). But very roughly there should be an option to choose between "I have used 1PW before" and "I am a new user". Choose "I am a new user", and this will create a vault for you and you will be asked to choose a master password for access to this vault. Your password should be easy for you to remember (if you lose it, you lose all access to your passwords, nothing can be done to recover it) but complex enough to be secure.
Someone with more detailed knowledge will be along with further info if you need it.

Hi @katscox ,
Thanks for considering 1Password to keep your digital data secure and organized! I'd be happy to help you get sorted out here. Let's start off with some basics:
- What is the version number of 1Password that you have installed? (Please include all relevant computers and devices)
- What is the version number of your operating system (for all computers and devices)?
- What are you using (or what would you like to use) to keep things in sync?
- Do you currently have any data stored in 1Password? If so, on which device is it?
The more detail you can provide, the more quickly we'll be able to get you sorted out! :)

It sounds like you've downloaded our free 30-day trial from the website. 1Password for Mac is a paid application, but you'll be able to try out all of the features for 30 days to see if it's right for you. If you already love it, you can snag a license either from our website or the Mac App Store. We are currently running a St. Patrick's Day sale, so now is a great time to get your hands on a license!

What do you see when you open 1Password for Mac? If it's easier, you can send me a screenshot of this. To include it in your reply, simply click the document button in the top of the comment field, and select the file you wish to share:

1Password 5 for iOS is a free download from the iOS App Store, with some Pro Features available via a one-time, in-app purchase. Once we figure out where you're at with 1Password for Mac, I'd be happy to walk you through the process of getting synced up with your iOS devices.

Thanks for your response. After reading your response I thought that I might have the trial and I did. It never told me that when I got it, but maybe I didn't notice. The good news is I I have it now. I went into the AppStore and purchased it and lucky me I got the sale price! Now I'll proceed to answer your questions because I do need help on syncing my 3 devices, MAC, iPhone and iPad. I've installed 1Password version 5. My MAC has OS X Yosemite version 10.10.2, my iPhone 6+ is versions 8.2 and my iPad Mini 3 is version 8.2 also. I use all 3 devices regularly and all my original data was stored on my iPhone. I noticed that between my iPhone and my MAC there are descrepancies. For instance, under logins, I have 23 items on my iPhone but only 9 on the MAC. My iPad is in sync with my iPhone. When I open 1Password I have the main menu so we are all good there. My question now is how do I sync my MAC with the two other devices?

Hi @katscox,
It sounds like 1Password is syncing your data between your iPhone and iPad. Are you using iCloud sync or Dropbox sync? And, did you set up that same sync option in 1Password on your Mac?
Let's start by checking the sync settings on each device:
On your iPhone and iPad, open 1Password and go to Settings > Sync. What does it show for the Sync Service?
On your Mac, open 1Password and go to the menu for 1Password > Preferences, then click the Sync tab. Which sync option is selected in the “Sync vault with” pop-up menu? If it is set to None, or if it's a different sync method than your iOS devices, you'll need to switch to the same sync option you use for 1Password on iOS.
Let us know how it goes up to this point, and we'll take it from there. Thanks!

My iPhone and iPad syncs are set up with iCloud. My MAC only gives me the following options to choose from: None, Dropbox and Folder. There is no iCloud option.

@katscox -If you bought your Mac license from the AgileBits, it won't have iCloud as an option. With the release of Yosemite and iOS 8, Apple began giving access to the sync protocols only to applications they sell on one of their App Stores.
If iCloud sync is important to you and you bought your license from AgileBits within the last 30 days, they will issue a refund and you can then repurchase directly from Apple.
Post back, if this describes your situation, for more instructions about getting that refund.

I purchased my MAC license from Apple in their App Store.

The license for the Mac store version is linked to the Apple ID you used to buy the license. There is no license file to install in that case. And since Apple provides no information to developers about who buys software, it isn't surprising that filling in your email address to retrieve your license on the AgileBits site can't link up with your purchase from Apple.
As for the false expired license notice, have a look at the top post in this section of the forum that deals with things like that. Does that post help you?

Okay I see what happened. When I got the trial period (which I really wasn't asking for, I really wanted to purchase the app for my MAC) I got the 30 day trial. After much frustration, I discovered form the various emails, I was logged into the trial membership not the app that I purchased. Once I figured that out, I was able to delete that and sign into the app I purchased get the Safari extension and all is good. I guess because of all of this I did get a good deal because of the sale. But it was very frustrating. If I recall correctly, the trial membership just automatically downloaded. I knew I wanted it so there was no reason to get it. Then I started receiving all these emails telling me how to use it which were' valid because I had not yet purchased it. Again, all is good now but very frustration.

Hi @katscox,
It might be we need to make the user more aware of what they're downloading then. We supply just the one version from our site, it starts off in a trial mode until the user applies a licence. Obviously if they decide 1Password isn't for them then all they have to do is delete the program. So thank you for your observations. We'll have to consider if there is a better way to present the information if you as the user aren't aware it's running as a trial.
Now it does sound like you've managed to resolve matters but if you have any more issues please do post.
