Trial Expired

I have followed all the steps to look at my old email and requested a new email for my license file. But I just keep getting an email with the key shown in text, not a license file to download. How do I create this license file so my Trial Expired notice goes away?

    Are you sure you have bought a license for 1PW4 or 5. 1PW4 was a paid upgrade from 1PW3, and 1PW5 is a free upgrade from 1PW4. Due to a bug, some people were not told at the time their 1PW4 trial expired that they needed to pay to get a license.

    The alphanumeric license key you refer to is for version 3. The upgrade from version 3 is a paid upgrade. If you paid for that upgrade with the email address you are referring to, the response will include a link to click to automatically install the license file, as well as giving you the key you're writing about. If that link is missing (as it is for some Gmail users), there is another link for complete installation instructions. You'll be able to download the license file from there.

    If you've never paid for the upgrade, you can get a discount by going to the AgileBits web store, clicking the upgrade button for version 5, and entering that license key on the next page. Then you'll see your discounted upgrade price.

    My email clearly shows two keys. One for version 3 and one for version 5. There isn't an attachment though.

    There won't be an attachment. There will be a link to click to download and install the license file. And, as I said, of that link is missing, there will be one that refers to complete installation instructions.

    There is a link to download the programs, but not the license file. Is there a support number to get this resolved?

    @AmandaB please send an email to support+licenses @ agilebits.com with the following information:

    1. your full name;
    2. your full address when you purchased 1P;
    3. the approximate date you bought 1P;
    4. the email address you used when you purchased 1P;
    5. a link to this thread.

    You will receive an automatic response with a ticket number. Post that number in this thread, which will help AgileBits connect the two and speed the response.

    Hi @AmandaB,

    Let us know when you've emailed us. I did check for the email address you use here in the forums but I didn't manage to locate any email yet. As Stephen_C says, if you post the ticket ID here it's a great way for us to find your email quickly :smile:

    Sorry, work got in the way. I forwarded my original purchase email from January and added the forum link.

    Thanks @AmandaB! We received your email, and I see that someone here just replied to you (if you didn't receive the email, please make sure you check any junk folders/spam filters to see if it was caught there). Hopefully you're all set, but if you need more help with that, we'll keep the conversation going directly via email to avoid complicating things between here and there. Thanks! :)

    Hi, I purchased 1Password years ago. I have version 5. I have a red font 'Trial Expired' at the top of the interface when I open it. I requested a copy for of my license, it was emailed to me. I copied the license, clicked on the link, downloaded 1Password, opened 'license' at top, clicked on 'Add license' BUT a finder window opens with no instructions or indications of where to add the license. Suggestions? Also, can you tell me how I can read simple instructions on how 1Password works so I can avoid relearning and re-digging into instructions on how to make this all work? Thanks. JL

    Double-clicking the license file should work, though you may need to move (or copy) the file from the mailbox to somewhere convenient.

    Or, in the situation you describe, when the Finder window opens, you have to find the license file and Open it. Again, this is easier if the file isn't just in the mailbox.

    @Josephlib: I was able to find a license under the email registered address you're using for the forum, but not for version 5. I've resent this to you in an email in case you need it.

    1Password 5 was a major release and a paid upgrade in most cases. But you can check your upgrade pricing here using the key in the email.

    If, however, you believe you purchased 1Password 5 already, please check your records. If you purchased it from the Mac App Store, you can simply download it from your purchase history. Or, if you purchased 1Password 5 from the AgileBits website, just enter the email you used for your purchase in this form to have it sent to you again.

    Failing that, feel free to send an email to support+licenses at agilebits dot com and we can answer any other licensing questions you might have.

    There's also a great quick start guide on our website with step by step instructions for getting set up with 1Password. I hope this helps ! :)
