WiFi Sync Problem

I recently purchased the mac version of this product. After setting up most of my passwords and wanting to have the info synced to my iPad. I purchased the iPad version and attempted to sync to my mac using the provided instructions.

I have tried many times, uninstalled the software etc but continue to get an error on the iPad stating
Sync Problem
Error - Domain=NSPOSIXErrorDocmainCode=60 "The operation couldn't completed. Operation timed out"

The systems are on the same network, the secret code was typed in correctly (many many times), syncing has been attempted with both the mac and iPad within a few feet of the router. My iTunes sync with the iPad works fine as well as wifi sync for other apps.

I have wasted several hours of time trying to get this to work and finally decided today to contact the vendor to try and fix this issue. Good F^*T%ing luck with that... I have wasted another few hours today trying to figure out how to get in contact with this vendor; no phone number on the web site, no email address for support - WTF. I don't have a twitter account and don't want one. I don't want to be involved in any forum but was forced to create an account just to try and ask a support question. I just want bloody support for the two software applications I purchased from this vendor. I don't plan on logging in to this thing again or wasting anymore of my time... so if there is anyone from the company that could contact me at the email address for my account to provide assistance; or just return my money for both products.

Ignoring for a moment your rant, and trying to help (by the way, I'm not employed by AgileBits so please don't shoot the messenger)...

The usual solutions for kicking wifi sync into action are:

    1. disabling then re-enabling wifi sync on both Mac and iPad; and/or
    2. rebooting both devices.

I have had occasional problems with wifi sync, getting the same error message as you, and invariably one or other of those has solved the issue.

There are other possible solutions but they are not so straightforward and probably not worth mentioning unless and until you confirm you've carried out both of those without success.

@dbaker: Sorry to hear that you're having trouble using WiFi Sync. There was an issue with this a while back which was fixed in an update.

Be sure to first check that you are using both the newest version of 1Password on each of your devices (5.2.1 on iOS, 5.1 on OS X) and the latest (stable) versions of the operating systems (since Apple has both OS X and OS X public betas available now).

See if updating helps, if you were using an older version on one of your devices. Also, try restarting your router, as that can often solve these types of issues where communication on the network is failing. Please let me know how it turns out! :)
