Crash on Credit Card fill

Hello, how are you all doing? (It mentioned that I could ask.)

Anyhow, for some time now; each month I try to go online to my Shaw.ca account to pay my monthly bill with 1P at https://myaccount.shaw.ca.

Anyway, I go to the Pay my Bills page at myaccount.shaw.ca/MyBills?goToPayNowScreen=True and from there I go to the key and then the Cards tab and select my Visa to slot in.

The moment that I tab my card from the list to past in; BAMM! 1P5.2.1 crashes like clockwork. Every time, and I've tried my other Credit Card and wife's and the same ungraceful crash occurs.

I attach an image of what the page form looks like for you to look at.
This doesn't seem to happen with other websites. I've only observed it on the shaw.ca site. And because I only do this once a month, usually by that time I've forgotten that it doesn't work and it crashes again.

If none in the Canadian offices have a Shaw account, I can go to the form on the Mac and provide you with the xhtml for the page, just let me know where to email it to.

Cheers, SkipR.

@skippingrock: Sorry for the delay. We don't appear to have anyone on staff with a Shaw account, so in this case the best thing would be for us to take a look at some diagnostic information from the 1Password app. It may shed some light on what exactly is causing the crash.

In 1Password, go to Settings > Advanced > Diagnostics > Send Diagnostics. This will attach the report to an email. Please also include a link to this forum thread so we can 'connect the dots' quickly and get this sorted out for you. Thanks! :)

We have an update in the works with a number of fixes, so it may be that it helps once its available.

@kunder: Are you having the same issue with the same site? Or does credit card filling crash 1Password on others as well? The more information we can gather on this, the better chance we have of getting this resolved. I look forward to hearing back from you! :)

Hello, I'm now on the beta testing team and have tried this task under your latest posted beta, but it still happens.

I will send the diagnostic as you suggest. Please watch for it.

  • Hi @skippingrock ,

Thanks for sending the diagnostic report. We will keep an eye out for it.

@skippingrock: I was hoping that I'd see the email from you by now, but I'm still not finding anything either from your forum email address or another address it looks like you wrote to us from about a week ago regarding the beta.

Please check to make sure the message shows up as 'sent' on your end, and try resending it. I just want to make sure you don't get lost in the shuffle. :)

I emailed it, sorry I couldn't find the advanced menu as you have to scroll down on my iPad mini to see it. May want to mention that in your instructions to send the diagnostics.

Before I sent it I tried to do the form again with two different cards, an Amex and a Visa and both crashed 1Password.

This is with the current beta released through TestFlight.

    Cheers.

@skippingrock: No worries! I'm glad you found it. I just wanted to make sure we didn't miss the email from you. I made a note for the future to mention the need to scroll down to see the option. We have indeed received your emailed diagnostics and will get back to you shortly! :)

It happens on every shopping web site just to answer your question.

  • Thanks for letting us know. We've seen a few credit card filling issues and are looking into it.

  • Good morning @skippingrock. Can you retest this issue with the latest build from TestFlight (our 5.4 build). That build includes some fixes to our filling code and it's possible this issue has been resolved. Thanks for helping out!

I tried doing this with the 1P extension in Safari and tried the same of filling in my card information and it did work. The 1P extension completely filled out my stored card. It didn't crash Safari.

So it is something in the interaction between the filling within the 1P browser.

Hope this information helps you as well.

    Hi @skippingrock ,

Thanks for the info. I've alerted the development team to take a look at it.

It happens on every shopping web site just to answer your question.

@kunder: 1Password crashes any time you try to fill credit card information on a website? Could you give one example, preferably once which allows 'guest' checkout? I wasn't able to reproduce the issue myself, so maybe our setups are different:

    • 1Password 5.4
    • iOS 8.3
    • iPhone 6
    • iPad mini 2

A good example is jinx.com, as it is quick to add a single item to the cart, choose guest checkout, have 1Password fill the address, and then have 1Password fill the credit card information. Try this for me and then tell me your example and we can compare notes to see if we can get to the bottom of this. Thanks! :)

I can confirm that as of iOS 5.5-b20, this crashing issue is gone.
I'm not sure exactly which version in which this crash was resolved as I didn't check for it until now. My apologies on that.

Anyway, it seems to be gone.
    Yay!
