The touch security alone is not enough and represents a huge risk for the user and potential very bad image for AgileBits. This is the best way for any physical attacker to access the vault.

I would like to know from Agile Bits if they heard their customer base when it requested to get the PIN CODE function to be re-installed and views from all.

@Dyzon300: That is simply not the case. I apologize for any confusion.

    • Touch ID is extremely secure, and the data itself is stored in the secure enclave, which is not even accessible to iOS, much less 3rd party apps such as 1Password (so a malicious app cannot steal your stored Touch ID data). 'Hacking' it requires a high-resolution scan of the fingerprint...or the finger itself. /shudder
    • 1Password does not require users to use Touch ID. But we do offer it as an option for our customers, as many requested -- and now enjoy using -- the feature. Be sure to check out our Touch ID FAQ, and here is some more detailed information on the security measures we have in place as well.
    • A 4-digit PIN is significantly less secure than a long, strong Master Password which is not limited to only the digits 0-9, but...
    • You are certainly still free to use a 4-character Master Password using only digits for both 1Password and your iOS device's unlock code...but I wouldn't recommend it.

Those who strive to compromise security are also hard at work as technology advances, so we encourage users to take advantage of both the tools and knowledge available to keep their data safe. I hope this helps in that regard! :)
