I just downloaded 1password to my iPad. I clicked on the Sync Existing button. Instructions say "Sync with you Mac over WiFi 1. Open 1Password on you Mac. 2. Enter these secret codes." In 1Password on the Mac, WHERE does one enter the provided secret codes?? I tried the preferences but there is no help there in any of the tabs

What version of 1P for Mac are you running, please? If it's 1P4 or 1P5 you should be able to go to 1P > Preferences > Sync and set up from there (see this knowledge base article).

    1Password 5
    Version 5.1 (510035)
    Agile Web Store
I've read the knowledge base article and I find no help there. The problem is that the ipad seems to have its own fixed agenda. I used my iphone to take 2 pictures of the ipad screen - (1 showing "sync existing" and the other after clicking that button.)

What is the exact version of 1P for iOS that you've downloaded on to your iPad? Can you go to 1P Settings and look towards the bottom of the screen. If you have the latest version you should see the version number there. What iOS version are you running on your iPad?

iPad IOS 8.2 (12D508). Go to 1P settings? How? You have seen the only screens available to me on 1P on the iPad.

I trashed that version of 1P and downloaded again by connecting to itunes on my Mac. That gave me a completely different experience and now all is well. I'm completely baffled by the screens I showed you though. (The version I have now is 5.2.1)

  • Hi @bdmclean,

The screenshots you posted look like 1Password 3 for iOS which was discontinued over 2 years ago.

That would likely explain the difference. :)

    Thanks!
