Wi-Fi Sync Mac <-> iOS <-> PC ?

I understand it isn't currently possible to wi-fi sync between a Mac and a PC.
However, could one wi-fi sync between a Mac and iOS and then do a wi-fi sync between iOS and a PC?

  • Hi @log42,

    That should work, yes. :)

    Thanks

    Hi there,
I tried to do that but it did not work. I do not want to use dropbox* and I want to continue relying on iCloud for my main devices. Since I sometimes need to access my passwords on Windows as well, I wanted to do the following:

    • iPhone, iPad, Mac -> sync over iCloud
    • Mac syncs with old iPod touch (4th gen) via WiFi-sync
    • old iPod touch syncs with Windows over WiFi

I got everything working until the last step, when I try to sync the iPod to Windows, there is an error-message "The operation couldn't be completed. Operation timed out". Do you have any suggestions on how to resolve this issue? Thanks a lot in advance!

Despite that, I'd love to see a WiFi-sync option between Mac & PC. Is this option in development?

    Greetings from Germany!

*I know that dropbox as a storage solution for my vault is as secure as iCloud but it is just personal preference.

EDIT: I solved the problem. During my first try, Windows was running in a virtual machine on my mac. After rebooting into BootCamp and running WiFI-sync, everything worked. I hope this is helpful for somebody else out there. :)

So, one question remains: Will there be WiFi-sync between Mac & PC in the future? :)

What version of 1Password do you have on each of those devices?

Understood, however, it would certainly be the easiest and recommended way to accomplish what you're trying to do.

No definite plans, but it has been discussed.

    iOS: 5.4.1
    Mac: 5.3 (530029)
    Windows: 4.5.0.573

Sorry for forgetting the version numbers, I read the note in the forum guidelines and after that my brain seems to have gone afk ;)

It would be really great! :)

    Hi @funzyl ,

Thanks so much for getting back to us with those version numbers. They're quite useful when tracking down tricky issues, particularly with Wi-Fi sync (since we've been iterating on this process quite a lot over the past few versions.)

I'd be happy to let our team know you'd like to see more options for Wi-Fi sync in the future - we appreciate the feedback!
