New message center is going to drive me crazy
So I don't have a problem with you having a message center in Settings. It wasn't high on my list of needed features, but that's fine. What DOES bother me is that apparently any unread messages now put a big red number in the settings icon that is visible whenever you're in the app. This is not cool - app badges are supposed to denote something important - not messages I probably don't care about. Please add an option to disable this annoying settings icon badge. This is pretty much the first change I can remember you guys making that had made the app less pleasant to use.

Are you by any chance using the iOS beta? I don't believe there's a message centre in non-betas of the iOS app. If you are using the iOS beta I, or someone, else will move this thread to the beta forum where it's more appropriate.

I hate to complain, but I sadly must agree: having an unread messages badge inside the app is going to drive me absolutely, completely insane.
I love you guys, and I'm always very interested in what you have to say (plus, you know, your release notes are funny) — but I can't help but experience an almost Pavlovian reaction of loathing whenever I see a red badge-y thingy demanding my attention. It's tough enough dealing with my ADHD in an overly-busy digital world; I really, really don't want to have things around to distract me whenever I go to grab something from 1Password. (Case in point: I was just in the middle of doing something before this, but now I can't remember what it was…)
So, if you could please add an option to disable the unread messages badge, I'd be most appreciative. Thank you so much!
P.S. Other than that, version 5.3 rocks! (Also exclamation points and parentheses. I like those.)

Stephen: at least for me, the... err, feature?... just showed up earlier today in the non-beta v5.3 update within the App Store. Hope that helps.

I'm going to register my agreement here. The feature is fine, but hate that there's now going to be a big red number in the app all the time, alerting me to things I'm probably not going to care about - such stuff belongs in the newsletter, surely, where I actually explicitly subscribe to receive notifications.

Please add a delete option in the messages center on iOS

As danielsaurus stated, "message center showed up earlier today in the non-beta v5.3 update within the App Store". Also, as jackiam has requested, "Please add a delete option in the message center on iOS"!

I agree. But, I can live with the notification if I can erase the message.

Please remove the nagging badge - or even better: Remove "message center" all together. Reading the your blog it is almost entirely marketing. Since I have already bought you product I don't need that. And one of the selling points was that here was a product that did exactly what it did, and no more. For a product that handles security I do not like having any distractions when using it; so please do not devalue your product. Until you remove message center, you will have at least one dissatisfied customer, who feels vender locked in.

@danielsaurus my apologies: the update must have arrived during UK sleep time! I've only just seen it on my iPhone.

Failing to see the benefit of the Message Centre in latest iOS beta. If you must do things like this at least add option to disable. The point of using 1Password is to have a utility to manage password. Keep it simple.
Options I am still missing are:
- unified search
- option to filter or sort (most frequently used, latest, new additions, et cetera. )

I agree, option to delete unwanted messages is needed. I also hate those little red dots. But as long as they disappear after message read, I am happy
This is my first post, so Hello to all

Why isn't Message Center in other versions of 1Password? Such as Android?

Hi @ScarySulley,
Message Center is a brand new feature. As you can see we're still getting a lot of feedback on this initial implementation. We will likely roll it out to the other platforms in future updates once we've had a chance to incorporate some of the suggestions we've gotten here. :)

I too would like to disable this "feature".

Hi @GeezerDude,
Thanks for the feedback. We don't currently have plans to completely disable the message center, but we are working to make it so you can disable the notifications (already implemented in 5.4), and the ability to mark all of the messages as read (partially implemented in 5.4, improvements still coming). We do appreciate the feedback though.
If you don't mind sharing, what is it about the message center that you don't like?
Thanks.
Ben

I already have an email, you send me all this stuff via email now - if I opt in. Now it's going to be rammed down my throat. How do I downgrade?
I don't want your marketing I want a password app.

Hi @bwoodruff,
I appreciate the changes being implemented to the message center, and would also like to see a delete option added in release 5.5. Thanks!0 -
Thanks, @neokuji!
@GeezerDude, message center is not a marketing tool. We're not selling anything via it. We're not trying to get you to buy anything via it. We're simply trying to keep folks informed of important changes to the products they're already using.
As for downgrading, the only way to do so would be if you have a copy of the older version of the app in iTunes and sync it over that way. For a whole host of reasons I wouldn't recommend doing that, but it is your choice. :)Thanks!

I'm sorry we disagree on what marketing is but I would still like the ability to disable the message center - or at a minimum the ability to unsubscribe from all the things you think I can't live without.

Thanks for the feedback :)
