Can't Setup iCloud Data Sync to New Mac Using App Store Version of 1Password

I am using the Mac App Store version of 1Password (1PW). My primary vault is on my MacBook Pro and I'm now trying to sync this data to another computer I have - MacBook Air (MBA). Both are running MacOS v10.10.2. First, I started 1PW with iCloud not enabled. I clicked the "I've Used 1PW Before" link, and all the choices for me to sync data appeared (i.e. iCloud, Dropbox, This Mac, Another Device, Backup). After I selected iCloud, 1PW told me to enable iCloud first and then startup again.

So I did that, started 1PW again, selected the "I've Used Before..." option, but THEN, the iCloud option for syncing flashes on screen briefly then disappears. All other options for syncing remain. I have tried completely deleting the 1PW App from the MBA, as well as any associated data files/containers; I've stopped/restarted iCloud a couple of times; I've reboot the MBA after each step. None of these troubleshooting options have changed the behavior of 1PW. For some reason, when iCloud is enabled (as required, with iCloud Drive active), the option to select iCloud for initial vault syncing is NOT available. I can only see this option listed if iCloud is NOT turned on.

Please Help!

    Sorry to ask a really basic question but I thought it worth checking. You are logged in on both Macs with the same Apple ID, aren't you?

    I'm sorry that you're having to go through this. I think we're going to need more information in order to get an idea of what's going on here. Would it be possible for you to send us Diagnostics Reports from both Macs? This is as simple as following the instructions on this page. Email them to support+forums@agilebits.com. Include a link to this forum thread in the email. You should get an autoresponse email that will contain an ID for your ticket. Feel free to post that ticket ID here on the forum, as it'll allow us to jump between the two systems more easily.

    I've just bought 1 password for my MacBook from the Apple store having used it successfully on my iphone and ipad.
    I cant get past the set up window asking to find a data source. When I initially clicked on the icloud option it asked me to turn it on (it was already on) but then when I returned to set up the icloud option had gone.
    This same problem has appeared on the 1st April with another user but the solution isn't up yet in the forum. Rickfillon was dealing with it.     Did he find a cause/solution?
    My MacBook is running Yosemite and the ipad running the lastest IOs software.

    Thanks for taking the time to contact us. I'm sorry that you are having some trouble as well. I merged your thread with this existing one since it does sound like the same problem.

    We haven't yet received a Diagnostics Report from ckf002, so there hasn't been any resolution yet. But it's possible that getting a Diagnostics Report from both of you could help narrow it down more quickly.

    Hi Khad.

    Apologies in the delay getting back to you. I've discovered since I posted and having done more reading that the problem was entirely with me and that one of the devices I was running was running on 1password 4 and hadn't been updated. This seemed to be the spanner in my works. All sorted now and very happy again. Its a great product.

    Hi @Monkswell,

    Well we're happy to hear that you managed to resolve the issue. The sweeping changes to iCloud Drive, including the introduction of the CloudKit framework that we now use do mean that iCloud Sync is either all 1Password 5 with iCloud Drive or all 1Password 4 with the old iCloud - it isn't possible to mix versions unless you switch sync methods.

    Sorry for delay in getting diagnostics reports. I've been ill the past 24 hours. Just sent reports from both computers - MBA (MacBook Air) and MBP (MacBook Pro) ...

    No worries, @ckf002! I hope you are feeling better now. I don't see the Diagnostics Report in our inbox just yet, though. Did you perhaps send it from a different email address? I was looking under the one you use on this forum (since that's all I had to go on). Did you happen to receive a ticket ID from the automated email system?
