Login filling issues and AutoSubmit feature [removed for compatibility]

Guys. Fix this. This is annoying. Can't even pay my bills today via your app like I usually do beginning of the month.

• No longer automatically logs me in. Some websites will have the information filled in - but "not proceed to log me in automatically" in other words, it doesn't automatically continue on like it use to. Other websites will not have the information filled in when I launch them. NONE of these sites have changed/updated. I have contacted them to see if it was on their end. Therefore, ALL of these sites that I use to login to without a problem before your app update, have now started having problems since your update. Hence, your update is the problem.

• The key icon (the one that fills in your information) nothing happens when selected - Even though, the contact is stored with it's password and login credentials (for the last year) since I've had your app.

• App no longer starts off where I left off. Always starts off at the categories section (not the favorites where I was last at) before your update, it always launched from the "section" where I was last at.

Also, what's up with you guys? Why are you now making me sign in to these forums? where a simple email could had been sent prior to update directly from your settings. Now, you've now removed that option and force us to forum? (Why would you do that?)

Anyways, your app is acting up from your update. I've tried going into the browser section and changing the browser to iPhone browser. Still to no avail. (Yes I closed out the app) and rebooted my iPhone 6+. Still, nada!

Also, 1 pass does not show up in the regular safari. (The one in the phone not through your app) So if I tap on the icon that bring up the more option (where I can then turn on 1 pass) well, 1 pass is not in that group. Twitter, Facebook is there. But not 1 pass.

The convenience I once had prior to this update of yours, of being on safari, then, about to log on, I would tap that button on safari where it would show 1 pass, then just hit the "key" icon and wallah! All my credentials automatically signed in. Well, that is now gone.

Guys. Fix this please. Highly annoying. Thanks!

    Hi @User28,

We'd really like to help you fix any filling issues you are having. Please see this post for information on how you can help us help you in that regard.

No longer automatically logs me in

    This was an intentional change:

App no longer starts off where I left off. Always starts off at the categories section (not the favorites where I was last at) before your update, it always launched from the "section" where I was last at.

We've had quite a bit of discussion about this internally. Our developers are definitely interested in improving this behavior and we'll likely see updates here in updates to the app in the future.

Also, what's up with you guys? Why are you now making me sign in to these forums? where a simple email could had been sent prior to update directly from your settings. Now, you've now removed that option and force us to forum? (Why would you do that?)

There are a lot of benefits to the forum over emails:

    • With one post we can help many customers that have the same question.
    • Our answers here are searchable.
    • Customers can interact with each other in addition to the AgileBits staff. We have a wonderful group of community moderators and other passionate 1Password users that help out here, making for a much quicker response time than we have via email.

    And others.

That isn't to say that if you have something you'd like to discuss with us privately you can't email us... That is still an option. But we would prefer if folks start in the forums. And for sure we'd appreciate it if folks only contact us with a given issue via one medium. Contacting us by email, forums, Facebook, Twitter, etc... All that does is slow the whole process down as it causes a massive duplication of efforts on our part.

Anyways, your app is acting up from your update. I've tried going into the browser section and changing the browser to iPhone browser. Still to no avail. (Yes I closed out the app) and rebooted my iPhone 6+. Still, nada!

Sorry for the confusion. That isn't what that setting does. You can read more about that here:

    https://guides.agilebits.com/1password-ios/5/en/topic/settings-1browser

Also, 1 pass does not show up in the regular safari. (The one in the phone not through your app) So if I tap on the icon that bring up the more option (where I can then turn on 1 pass) well, 1 pass is not in that group. Twitter, Facebook is there. But not 1 pass.

It sounds like you're clicking the wrong 'more' button. There are two. One in the top row of icons for social media stuff, and one in the bottom row of icons for extensions. If you don't see it you may have to scroll:

    https://guides.agilebits.com/1password-ios/5/en/topic/enable-extension

    I hope that helps. :)

Sorry, but I'm really holding back my tongue right now from verbally smacking one of you people.

You make it sound as if you guys are proud by getting rid of the "main" feature. That's the reason I bought the app, because of the "auto submit" I don't care that 1pass auto fills field entries, Safari can do that.

This really vexes me and judging from the link you guided me to, many others are too.

Listen, just tell me two things:
    1) which is the last version that had the auto submit feature?

    2) How do I update to that version?

You guys. Shaking my head. As if, everytime one of us auto submitted, you had to get up out of your bed or something. There was no reason to get rid of it. App was perfectly fine before you guys messed it up.

@user28: 1Password has a lot of features that we are proud of. Generally speaking, secure storage and filling of logins is the 'main' feature, as everything else is there to support that in some way.

And this is why AutoSubmit is gone for the time being: because we were not proud (or satisfied, or content) with AutoSubmit breaking people's logins. There is an interaction with some old Javascript libraries that, unfortunately, many prominent websites are still using. And this resulted in customers (and AgileBits staff, friends, and family!) getting a blank white page when logging in.

Removing AutoSubmit was a tough decision, one which we did not take lightly, but our hope is that we can find a better solution in the future to reimplement AutoSubmit in a way that is as awesome in practice as we all expect -- and deserve -- it to be. The App Store does not support downgrading, and it isn't something AgileBits can recommend or support either.

As if, everytime one of us auto submitted, you had to get up out of your bed or something.

Not at all. In fact, it is much easier than that. Once 1Password fills your login, you can just tap on the 'Submit' (or 'Login' or 'Sign in' button, however it is named on that particular site) to submit the form and log into your account.

I know it is less convenient than it was before on websites that did not have the AutoSubmit issue, and for that I apologize. Just know that we want AutoSubmit back just as much as you do, so we will work hard to find a solution that can work for all of us going forward, so that we don't leave anyone behind. Thanks again for taking the time to let us know just how important this -- and 1Password -- is to you. :)
