Still asks for password with Touch ID

@tomd4044: I'm sorry you're having trouble with Touch ID! Can you double-check your Touch ID settings, both in 1Password and iOS?
Just to be clear, you will still be required to enter your Master Password when you open 1Password for the first time after restarting the device, but afterward you can use Touch ID to unlock 1Password.
I hope this helps. If not, can you tell me the steps you are taking, the security settings you're using in 1Password, and where it is that you are running into this issue? I look forward to hearing back from you! :)

Thanks. It solved the problem

It was an issue with my Touch ID in my iOS setting. I needed to reset it.
Thank you again0 -
I'm having the same issue with 1Password and touch id. I'm constantly being asked to enter my master password. I know it can't be my settings because I matched them to my iPhone 5s, which doesn't have any issues. The only difference is my iPad doesn't have cellular but I'm on wifi. I get asked for my master password when using both the app and the safari extension.

To elaborate... I'm having issues with my iPad air 2, brand new, running iOS 8.2

This is only on my new iPad Air 2. I'm constantly being asked to type the master password, even though touchID is enabled, and I've already typed my master password at least once after a reboot or closing the app.
Basically, it doesn't work like it does on my iPhone 5s (which works GREAT). All I get is the master password login.
Attached are the relevant screenshots...

I can't really explain this... but in the last hour or two, I made one change and things have been working as expected. I turned on Lock on Exit in the 1P security settings, and ever since then, TouchID has been working, both for logging into the 1P app and Safari extension. The funny thing is, I know I had Lock on Exit turned on before. Maybe it was turning TouchID on and off a few times ???
I'll have to pay a little more attention now. I'll have to check back later today, when I've let my iPad sit for a few hours, to see if I get prompted for TouchID. As it stands, everything seems to be working now :-)

With the file extension in Safari the master password is required. Is there a plan to have Touch ID enabled when using the extension in the near future. My master password is very long. Regards, Yves

A second question, with iOS using Safari, is it possible to configure 1 Password to suggest remember log in data when signing on to a new user account and to suggest a generated password the same way keychain does. This would be the cherry on top of the sundae as they say. I believe it is possible in a Mac, is this correct? Regards, Yves

@yenic: The 1Password iOS 8 extension does indeed support Touch ID! It sounds like you may need to reset it it though, as others have had similar Touch ID issues (and sadly this has become more common with 8.3). You may be able to simply restart the device or re-set Touch ID to get it working, but there were a few other tips that worked for others in that thread. Just follow these steps:
- Launch Settings on your iPhone or iPad
- Tap on Touch ID & Passcode
- Enter your Passcode or Password
- Toggle Touch ID to OFF
- Press the Home button to return to the Home screen
- Shut down and restart your device
- Enter your Passcode or Password at the Lock screen
- Launch Settings on your iPhone or iPad
- Tap on Touch ID & Passcode
- Enter your Passcode or Password
- Toggle Touch ID to ON
Unfortunately it isn't currently possible for app extensions to 'listen' like you describe so that they can jump in and try to be useful, although this may change in the future. Right now, extensions are completely sandboxed and can only act when they are invoked by the user. Definitely something we'd enjoy playing with if Apple gives a bit more leeway down the road though. Cheers! :)

Brenty, thank you. It is refreshing to get issues feedback so quickly. Something for other developers to make note. I have used 1 Password maybe for couple years now and it has been interesting to see it develop to what it is today. Thanks to all who are working to make this App the best tool in the confusing world of passwords where today one can get lost very easily. Good work, you have my support.

I'm back again... I thought I had everything figure out, and touch ID on my new iPad Air 2 was working, but now I'm not getting it again. Just to be clear, is there a timeout when you're required to type your master password?
If I let my iPad sit for a few hours, or half a day (haven't fully nailed it down as to how long), I'm forced to enter my master password. When I initially go to pick up my iPad, I'm able to use touch ID to unlock versus putting the 4 digit pin, so I believe touch ID is working. However, with 1P (both the app and iOS), I have to type my master password in, then all is working... for awhile.

@makahuhu: I'm sorry you're still having trouble! You are correct: when Touch ID is enabled, you should only have to enter your password manually after you restart the device (or if you lock manually using 1Password Settings > Security > Lock Now).
Please try the steps in my post above, as they have worked well for myself and others to get Touch ID working normally again. :)

Found it! I never saw this setting before, in 1P - Settings - Advanced, if you scroll down there is a section for Security. In there, it says Require Master Password (Your Master Password will not be automatically required after a certain amount of time). So bizarre, I've never seen that setting... but that definitely explains things.

With Touch ID and the iOS Safari extension all working smoothly now, I couldn't be happier! I never really used this discussion board before this week, but now that I've found it, it's great to have a sounding board to bounce problems off and get help. It really completes the whole 1P experience in terms of support.
This might not be the place to ask... but do you know of any plans for a Chrome iOS extension?

Thanks for the kind words and feedback!
As for Chrome, we're waiting on them: https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/comment/193501/#Comment_193501
