Buying license for iMac 1Password 5.
Currently I only have the free version of 1Password 5.3 for my iPad 2 and iPhone 6 Plus. I would like to upgrade to the Pro version on my two devices, as well as buy the 1Password license for my iMac at $49.99. My question is if I purchase the $49.99 version on my iMac, does this also include the Pro version on my other devices?? In other words, if I purchase the $49.99 iMac version, do I also have to purchase the $9.99 Pro version for my smart devices?? Hoping that I don't have too. Please let me know. Thanks!

1P for Mac and 1P for iOS are completely separate products. In other words, if you need 1P for Mac you have to buy it and it doesn't include, or affect what you may pay for, 1P for iOS.
However, note that 1P for iOS is a free app with an in-app purchase to enable pro features.
Just a tip about your purchase of 1P for Mac: you can buy 1P for Mac either from the Mac App Store or direct from the AgileBits store. There are two things to bear in mind:
- If you ever want to use iCloud to sync 1P data between your Mac and iPhone you must buy 1P from the Mac App Store because the version from the AgileBits store doesn't support iCloud sync (following changes made by Apple on the launch of OS X Yosemite). Both versions support sync of 1P data by either local wifi or Dropbox.
- If you have owned an earlier version of 1P for Mac you may be entitled to an upgrade discount if you buy from the AgileBits store. That discount won't be available if you buy from the Mac App Store.

oh wow, that terrible. Ok, yes I do sync through iCloud therefore I'll have to purchase the $49.99 Mac App Store version. No worries there. So in order to get Pro features on my other smart devices, I'll have to purchase the in-app upgrade for $9.99 to release the pro features. Copy that. Another question, if I purchase the in-app $9.99 upgrade on my iPhone, will it also upgrade my iPad with Pro features or do I have to spend another $9.99 to upgrade my iPad. Please tell me no. Geeeez! $70.00 plus tax seems bit high to me.

As long as you use the same AppleID on iPad and iPhone then one in-app purchase of the Pro features covers both devices.

Hi @MikeyMac,
@Stephen_C and @danco are correct. I'd like to point you toward this guide to illustrate how to unlock the Pro Features on the second iOS device by using the "Restore Purchase" function.
I'd also like to note that thanks to Apple's Family Sharing policy, the 1Password 5 for Mac license that you buy from the Mac App Store can be used by you and up to 5 family members on all your Mac computers, forever.
And here's a guide to sync options, with links to user guides to set up iCloud Sync on iOS and Mac.
Thanks for your interest in using 1Password across platforms!

@danco @Vee & @Stephen_C - Thanks so much for your help and quick responses. I will purchase my license for my iMac thru the App Store, as well as purchase the upgrade on my iPhone 6 Plus to release the Pro features. Then I'll check out your guide to restore the Pro features on my iPad. ✌️

One more question: If I stored all my login info into 1Password using my iPhone 6 and I upgrade to Pro $9.99 on both devices (iPhone 6 & iPad 2). When I restore purchase on my iPad, will I get all the info I entered with my iPhone on my iPad version of 1Password or will I have to reenter it on the iPad? I'm assuming it'll just transfer via iCloud, correct? Just making sure, only because it took me for ever to log all this info in. Thanks again for all your help.

Yeah @MikeyMac, you should be able to sync the primary vaults with iCloud, no problem--regardless of whether you have Pro Features unlocked. That's just a matter of setting up iCloud Sync on both devices. Sync away!

I have 1password on my iPad and iPhone. Now I want to purchase it for my Mac pro and also have it for my MacBook pro do I need to purchase 2 copies

Hi @fire124m,
If you use the same Apple ID on both the Mac Pro and MacBook Pro you can purchase a single copy using your Apple ID and install it on both (all of) your Macs:
Thanks!

That's great I was going to purchase from Apple for my Mac pro. how do I install the second download to the MacBook without needing to re purchase? Also how do I get all 4 computers to then sync together,

Hello @fire124m,
After you make the purchase on the Mac Pro, make sure the MacBook is logged in with the same Apple ID, and go to the Purchases tab of the App Store. Find 1Password there and click Download. Your 1Password license will be tied to your Apple ID, so you shouldn't have to purchase it again.
You can then use iCloud to automatically sync 1Password data across devices. We've got you covered with step-by-step instructions to configure iCloud sync on your Macs, and your iOS devices.
That should get you up and running, but we'll be here if you need anything else! :)

Ok great. Copy that. Thx for ur help. Hmmmmmm? While I got u all on this thread. I'm preordering the Apple Watch tomorrow. Is 1Password compatible on the watch? Learning this watch will be a whole new ball game for many of us. Figure we have until 4-24-15 to figure all the new Apps and technology for the watch. ⌚️

Ah yes, that is the question! We're very excited about the possibilities for 1Password and Apple Watch. We have some great plans that we can't wait to share... but they're not quite ready for primetime yet. Stay tuned! I'm sure it will be something awesome. :)

Oh nice. Yes, I'm super excited for my new Milanese Loop.

Millions of people are making huge mistakes on pre-ordering these watches without trying them on first. Especially the sport watch that comes in 3 different band sizes. Unbelievable! Not exchangeable. Watch doesn't fit on your wrist, your stuck w it. Sh*t out of luck. Went to a huge popular Apple Store in Orlando and the store was packed and nobody was around the watches in the display area. Huh? People are impulse buying and not using their heads. Sold out in 10 mins this morning at 12:10am PST. I find that hilarious and another one of Apple's tactics of the old supply and demand game they play all so well. Anyways, I bought my 42mm Stainless Steel Milanese Loop watch an hour ago after sitting down w an Apple rep and trying on the different watches. Milanese loop is super elegant and very comfortable. Interchangeable too so I'll be buying the black 42mm sport band too for everyday use. Shipping in June it says but guarantee it arrive sometime early May.

Hi @MikeyMac,
Well, I agree that pre-ordering without trying is a bit of a risky proposition, but I've seen some pretty clever workarounds to trying on a watch in-store, including everything from a paper cutout to a full-on 3D printed model. :)
I'm glad to hear that you found a watch that is going to fit your needs.

Ha! Thanks! Looking forward to getting it. Yes, clever ideas but still very risky and nothing like putting on the original watch and seeing how it feels in your wrist. Looking forward to seeing how u all implement 1Password into the watch. Keep up the good work.

Hope the wait for your new watch isn't too agonising
