How do I create 2 usernames and 2 PWs for the same site?

That's my question! I want to set up 2 separate accts for same url. Every attempt wipes out previous acct.

Thanks!
Barry

    Hi @bgrant,

When you try to set up the second account and the 1Password Save Login window pops up, what does the first drop down menu say?

Normally it should say Save new Login but if it instead says Update existing Login then I suspect we've found the cause of what you're seeing. If it does say Update existing Login then switching it to Save new Login should be all you need to do to create a second Login item for these different user credentials.

Does that match at all with what you're seeing and does the suggestion help?

Grrr! I don't get either message! Only once did 1P offer to save new login info but the site rejected me because I used the same email as I did for my daughter. I registered again with a different email. 1P generated a PW but didn't save it! So I had to request it be sent to me. Now I have only my daughter;s login info saved in 1P. I have to enter mine manually. Grr! So the site sent me my PW. I used generate new PW to create a new one. and 1P created a separate login for me. When I tried to log in with the 1P credentials, the tells me the PW doesn't match the username. I'll try again, but this is too hard!

Now my daughter's account which worked yesterday doesn't work! i requested the PW from the site, changed it and manually saved it in 1P,or thought I did! the PW works when I enter it manually, but when I use 1P which should have the manually entered PW, it doesn't work.

    Hi @bgrant,

I think for us to better understand what is going on we might need to take a couple of steps back. Here is a link to our Saving a Login page. Now any time 1Password asks if you wish to save a new Login a window like this should pop up.

Where it says Save new Login, that's a menu where another option (which may be disabled) can be seen and that option is titled Update existing Login like this:

I'm saying this as if you're not seeing either message I'm wondering if you might be interacting with the browser and not 1Password.

What could help a lot is if you could read over that page and then describe what happened. I'm hoping the page will help you be able to describe what you saw by giving you a grounding in what is meant to happen. Hopefully once we have a fuller picture of what is going on we can help

I've been interacting with 1P, but I didn't know that that box toggled! This knowledge could have made all the difference! I am set for now. I can't tell you exactly what happened--it was confusing both because of my ignorance of 1P and how the web site worked. Thanks!

    Hi @bgrant,

I'm glad @littlebobbytables could help! He's awesome like that.

Protip: any field that has arrows on the right side of it has a drop-down menu of other options you can choose in that field. You may be surprised how often this occurs on the web and in apps!

Thanks for coming to us with your question. Come on by any time, we're here seven days a week. :)
