Need a refund as the website version doesn't work with iCloud

Hi,

I purchased 1Password from the website and figured that it doesn't work with iCloud. I am very disappointed as I never saw anything on the website saying that it won't work with iCloud. This is misleading. I do not wish to use 1Password if it doesn't work with iCloud. I would like to get a refund.

    I'm not sure how you managed to buy without seeing this warning:

    However, if you bought from the AgileBits store within the past 30 days you can request a refund to enable you to buy the Mac App Store version. If that's the case send an email to support+licenses @ agilebits.com with the following information:

    1. your full name;
    2. your full address when you purchased 1P;
    3. the approximate date you bought 1P;
    4. the email address you used when you purchased 1P;
    5. a request for a refund to enable you to buy the Mac App Store version;
    6. a link to this thread.

    You will receive an automatic response with a ticket number. Post that number in this thread, which will help AgileBits connect the two and speed the response.

    It's your choice if you insist on using iCloud. @Stpehen_C is quite right about what you can do. But many of us, including AgileBits staff, are very happy with Dropbox sync.

    I am hoping that Agile will change their web site slightly. While the message about iCloud sync is visible, it seems that many people miss it. I think it needs an extra message under the "Or buy it here" line, saying "iCloud sync not available in this version"

    Hi @suyashgandhi ,

    I was able to locate your purchase in our back office records (using the email address attached to your forum account) and I have refunded your purchase of 1Password for Mac. You can now snag a copy from the Mac App Store and take advantage of iCloud sync.

    I sincerely apologize for the frustration here. You can learn about switching to the Mac App Store version in our Knowledgebase article:

    Migrate to the Mac App Store version

    Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns!

    Hi @Megan,

    Thanks for the quick response and the refund. I bought the Mac AppStore version. When I first purchased from the web store, I didn't pay much attention to the "Available on MacApp Store" section. I clicked straight on the "Single license" button. In my opinion it would be more helpful if the note about iCloud sync is presented in the form of an alert or pop-up dialog. Just a suggestion.

    I think this is the key to all the issues with people failing to notice the requirements for iCloud sync. They come with the intention of buying from the web store, and so don't read info about the App Store. The warning about iCloud sync needs to be in the section on the web store purchase. And preferably also as a pop-up that should be hard to overlook

    Hi @suyashgandhi (and @danco),

    Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts here! I'm glad to hear that you're all sorted out with the Mac App Store version taking advantage of iCloud sync.
