One Time passwords with new version of 1password and Google

I have a couple of sites where I have enabled two-factor-authentication. I used to use the Google Authenticator-app for this on my iPhone, but I'm planning to migrate to 1password's new OTP function. I already tried to do this with one site and it's working fine. However when I look at the Google account page, I see that they only support SMS or the 'Google Authenticator'-app. Is it safe to let Google think that 1password is the "Google Authenticator'-app?

    Hi @smeerbartje,

    Yes! 1Password can be used instead. Both Google Authenticator and 1Password use the Time-Based One-Time Password Algorithm, so any site that uses TOTP should be compatible. :)
