Trial Expired?

I've been using 1Password for some time now (originally on my Mac and later on both Mac and iOS) and it's saying my trial has expired. While it still allows me to use 1Password, some of the functionality is limited. For example, it won't allow me to edit things in my vault. This is necessary for certain situations (i.e. I need to add a username to an existing password in vault so I don't have to manually type in username each time). Moreover, I feel a bit tricked because there was previously no mention of a trial period. I was incredibly happy with 1Password before and now I'm frustrated.

I assume you downloaded 1P from the AgileBits store (as opposed to from the Mac App Store)—because only the AgileBits store offers a 30 day trial period. What version of 1P are you running, please? I assume from what you say that you've been using it for about 30 days. Generally, see this knowledge base article which explains all about the "trial expired" warning.

Moreover, I feel a bit tricked because there was previously no mention of a trial period.

There should have been some visible indication that 1P was not licensed. Did you not see one?

I downloaded it from the website. I feel like I've been using it for well over 30 days. I believe it was since version 4. Later when I bought my iPhone I downloaded the app for iOS. I promise I did not see any disclaimer about trial.

  • Hi @wadedro,

I don't see any licenses registered under the email address you have registered here. If you did purchase a license please feel shoot us an email to support+licenses@agilebits.com so we can help you find it.

You can read about what licenses may be required here:

    https://support.1password.com/license-requirements/mac.html

1Password for Mac has never been a free product.

    Thanks!

    Ben
