2 factor authentication problem

Hiya, Im loving the fact that you have added 2 factor authentication to 1password :) I found your you tube video explaining how to set up 2 factor authentication and I have set up a couple of my sites with it but I'm not sure if it is working correction? Even though the main 1password app seems to be changing the 1 time passes correctly every so many seconds, it fills in a different number on the web page to the one that is currently in the 1password app? Ive tried this both with the browser button (I'm using a mac with safari by the way) and with the app itself by clicking on the record and then on website field and open and fill button.

Any thoughts?

    Hi @Andy567,

    While we have support for TOTP in at least three of our platforms it is by no means a polished feature like we know it can be and we know we need to do better. One aspect is the difference in the user experience in adding a TOTP entry to a Login item if you're a Mac or iOS user. The other is how we use that information. Our extension doesn't work with TOTP yet so as a Mac user you will probably find this workflow gives a more consistent experience.

    1. On the page in question use the 1Password Browser Extension to fill in the first page as you normally would.
    2. When presented with the TOTP page use either the 1Password Browser Extension icon in your Browser or the keyboard shortcut ⌥⌘\ to bring up 1Password mini.
    3. Your Login item should be at the top of the list already and you want to bring up the Item Details which you can do either by hovering the cursor over the entry or if you're a keyboard user like myself, the up and down arrow keys will move you through the options and then if you press the right arrow key with your Login item selected it will display the Item Details.
    4. With the Item Details in view, if you then either click on the TOTP entry or use the arrow keys to select that field and press enter then the current TOTP code will be copied to your clipboard and 1Password mini will close, returning focus to your browser.

    Having the extension work with TOTP is something we want to address so hopefully this workaround will only be for a while.

    Please do let us know if you find that works and if it's an acceptable temporary solution while we improve this aspect of 1Password.
