Excessive 1Password mini CPU usage [broken sync - replaced sync data to correct]
Macbook Air 11", mid 2013 1.7GHz i7, 8GB, 60GB SSD space free. OS X 10.10.3. This obviously slows down EVERYTHING else and quickly uses up the battery.
Any ideas?

Hi @fenbat,
It certainly shouldn't be doing that at all. As you can imagine we spend a lot of time in 1Password for troubleshooting and I've never clocked up that amount of CPU time.
The first thing I would like to try is to download a fresh copy of 1Password 5.
- Quit both 1Password and 1Password mini. You can do this with the keyboard shortcut
⌃⌘Q
when 1Password is open (it doesn't have to be unlocked). - Drag the 1Password application from your
/Applications/
folder to the Trash. Please don't use an app cleaner. - Reboot your Mac.
- Download 1Password again from the same place you purchased it. So via Apple's App Store application if you're a MAS user and from our AgileBits Download page if you're an Agile Web Store (AWS) customer.
If that doesn't alter anything please do let us know.

I followed your instructions exactly. After running the new download:

It was worth a shot @fenbat but I do apologise that it didn't help.
I would like you to create the following for us please.
- A Diagnostic Report for 1Password on your Mac
- A sample of 1Password mini while it's using all the CPU. In Activity Monitor, double-click the 1Password mini process, then click the Sample button. Save that as a text file.
Then attach everything to an email to us: support+ forum@agilebits.com
Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.
Once you've sent the Report a post here with the ticket ID will help us to keep an eye out for it. :)
Once we see the report we should be able to better assist you. Thanks in advance!

OK. Everything sent. I have no idea what ticket ID you mention.

Hi @fenbat (and @littlebobbytables),
The Diagnostics Report will help illuminate some of that, hopefully. But what would help more than the Diagnostics Report is a Sample from Activity Monitor. It should be as easy as selecting the process in Activity Monitor, then using the gear button in the toolbar, and selecting 'Sample Process'. You can save that and send it our way. It'll give us a better idea of what code 1Password is running than what's in our Diagnostics Reports.
Thanks.

Apparently I need more coffee. I totally missed the spot in @littlebobbytables 's reply where he asked for a Sample. Ignore me. I'll go work on my waking up.

Hi @fenbat,
When you emailed us you should hopefully have received an automated reply in return. In there would have been a ticket ID so we can keep the conversation thread together. We ask for it because often people will use one email address here in the forums but another for emailing us and so on. I managed to find your email though and somebody will hopefully be in contact soon once we've had a chance to review both the diagnostic report and the sample report.

Hello there
My 1Password 5.3 on Mac is going crazy : anytime I change something (add a tag, delete a URL...) the main app and the mini-app are using 100 to 150 % CPU.
But there is more. I have some items with many conflicts lines. Everything is fine, so I edit the item, delete the lines en save. CPU is going crazy again, and moments later the same lines are back. First, I've thougth it was a Dropbox sync's problem, but if Dropbox is closed, it's all the same.
Next step : I created a backup copy of my vault. Then (with Dropbox and 1Password applications off), I searched Spotlight to find every conflict files, and I deleted them. Then I relaunched Dropbox and 1Password. Now I can delete the conflict lines : they do not reappear. And I can manage my vault, CPU is always below 50 %.
I hope this will help you :-)
For diagnostic purpose, I've sent my diagnostic report and app sample to the Jedi Team.0 -
BTW, I'm on [#VFB-36534-516]

Hi @Grishkaone,
Thank you for sending in the diagnostic report and posting the ticket ID. It does look like it's the same issue and we'll continue this over email.
