BUG - won't save with keyboard short-cut if all you've changed is type to URL

1) Start with an entry that has a website in a non-website field
2) Hit Command-E to go into edit mode
3) Change the field type from "text" to "URL"
4) Hit Command-E

The change will not save.

This happens consistently with Version 5.3 on entries that had been created pre-update. I have not verified with new entires.

  • Hi @paranoyd,

Thank you for writing in. I was able to reproduce and confirm this bug locally. I've filed it as OPM-3000 here, and we'll do what we can to get this resolved. It looks like it saves correctly if I click the 'Save' button, but invoking it via cmd-E doesn't save that change. Very curious. I'm sure we'll figure it out though.

Without knowing jack about coding, my guess is there isn't just one "check" to see if any data was changed prior to saving but rather two separate checks -- one for the keyboard-command and one for the GUI button. And one of them wasn't updated in this latest release. I'm a keyboard short-cut whore, clearly. :)

    Hi @paranoyd,

Have you tried the ⌘S keyboard shortcut to save your changes? If the bug is specific to the ⌘E shortcut, the ⌘S shortcut might still work as expected. If so, that could be a helpful workaround while waiting for a fix.

Thanks again for letting us know about the problem! We're here for you if you need anything else. :)

    Hi @paranoyd,

Glad to hear @Drew_AG's suggestion was able to help while we work on this
